what happens if the battery terminal is not disconnected?

Dick
Thanks for the invite. I live in coastal NC. Around Edenton, NC just south of Suffolk/Norfolk VA. If I get up that way I will give you a call.

Agree on all points. I presume those of new to this lifestyle and not visiting/using our coach more than once per month, may be in the same position. Thanks for the advice.
I am heading to the coach in the next 30 minutes to see what I can find out.

Thanks Pres,
Although I am moving on this project at a snails pace (been over 112 F for three weeks now) I did manage to pull the water heaters and pressure test, NO LEAKS. Kept a pressure gauge on them for 24 hours at 50 psi.
At this point I went two knuckles into my right nostril and finally started looking at the Goyen Valves. Sure enough, I pulled all five of them and found bits of this and that inside, mainly calcium deposits. I gave each of them an angioplasty and for good measure soaked everything (save the bellows) in 50-50 muriatic and water. They are ready to be reinstalled. Do not believe that any of them had ever been touched and the four mounting bolts on the head of a least three of them were finger tight. I re tighted to perhaps 10 foot pounds on each and used a titch of blue locktite.
I will report back….

Most transfer switches automatically are biased towards the best power source with inverter power being the default. As soon as shore power is present the transfer switch sends power into the coach. If the generator is run, even if you are still connected to shore power the transfer switch will automatically send generator power into the coach, and disconnect shore power.
The information about shutting down loads before starting the generator or connecting to shore power is not only good advice, it should be the practice. While it is unlikely one failure to remove loads from the system will damage anything, continued failure to remove loads is ultimately going to daamge the relay contacts and eventually require repair or replacement of parts or the entire transfer switch.
Some of our coaches can automatically start the generator if shore power is disconnected such as a tripped breaker or power failure, meaning when the generator starts all the devices that were on when power was lost will still be on and the transfer switch is going to switch under load. But those are isolated incidents and should be avoided.

Just curious; is it an XLV (metal skin) or H3 (fiberglass)?
-
I think cracks such as described might be common. I had one similar crack originating from a lower corner of a window to the bottom of the skin panel on both my 87 and 97 coach.
Some H models have cracks in bay doors. The point being the cracks may be design issues and not indiciative of abuse or damage.

Thanks agian Doug, got the ressie.

All will be dependent upon the version of the slideout controls that you have. Verify with Marathon that it is not a Valid slide. If it is an 03 conversion then it most likely would be built on an 02 chassis. It shold have version 2 controls : the main slide out controllers in the third bay driver’s side will be blue and yellow. This version still has the linear transducer (Yo-Yo) to tell the system where the slide out is in relation to the opening.
What is the slide doing or not doing? The sequence to open the front slide out is 1. push the button for OUT. Tag axle should dump and the slide seal should deflate. If the seal deflates correctly, then the pins should retract. Once all the pins are out and the controller sees this, then the motor controller is activated and slide begins its journey out of the chassis. When the yo-yo signals that is is at the outer limit, then the controller stops the motor and the seal re-inflates. If you fail any of the steps, the slide will stop and yo will get fashing codes on the led by the seitch and on the ddddddiagnostic led onthe appropriate contoller below int he third bay.
So where do you get inthe above sequence when the slide stops?

I have Verizon unlimited data & stream a lot of the time, especially when My RV is parked in a site with limited visibility.
I do what Harry described, I use my iPhone to stream Amazon movies or DirectTV TV, etc.

Have to agree with the old saying about the two happiest days. Had a 28 ft. cabin cruiser… I motored rather than sailing and my longest trip in it was from Ft. Lauderdale to Bimini and Cat Cay, across the Gulf Stream and back. Hats off to Ronald for his seamanship and bravery! Kirby

Dave, just have Karen check in while you hide in the back of the bus.

Kenmore 51789 is the same one I used to replace our Amana. You should be looking for “counter depth”. They’re out there, but tough to find. Are you close to ETLC? If so, have it drop shipped to Jeff and have him put it in. They are very, very efficient at both the window and reefer swaps (read save $$$$).
-
Thanks Jeff and Tom I may have to modify the opening at the top and sides but the depth looks good on that fridge Tom, thanks for the feed back. The fridge still works but it runs all the time not very efficient so with my luck I change the window and a month later the fridge piles up so kill two birds with one stone.

Jon, I thought Hish had found a 12 volt pump capable of delivering adequate pressure and flow to flush a Headhunter toilet without an additional accumulator tank. Due to limited space, that would be great.
On a related note, our toilet would not flush this weekend despite 60 PSI and a properly cycling pump. There was only a small movement of water in the bowl both with pressing the button or operating the manual trigger on the flush valve. I checked the diaphragm in the flush valve and the vent hole was clear and no damage or debris seen. The bus is back a Jeffs for a fix.
