I recently had my diesel generator repaired at Powerhouse Diesel Generator located at 4498 ValNorth C , Valdosta, GA, 31602,. The company is owned by Scott Tyler who is totally focused on customer service and satisfaction. He and his team exceed my expectations for competence, value and integrity. Alvie you are absolutely correct. When we insure the current bus I was asked to put my wife on the policy as a named driver. I said no because she does not feel qualified and as a result she drove one of our buses for the last time about 22 years ago.

They said if she is listed the premiums will go down.

I asked if I understood it right. The insurance company will lower my premiums if I list a driver who is not comfortable driving the bus, has no experience with 60,000 pounds and 65 feet of length when towing and has no intention of driving. Yes was the answer. So as a follow up question I asked why my Class A commercial license gets a premium reduction while adding someone who admits to no qualifications whatsoever when added generates another premium reduction. No answer was available for that leap of logic.

I suspect when these folks were done designing the Affordable Care Act they moved over to the RV insurance industry and began writing our policies.

    The
shame of it all, now the Bluebird convert is even taking bow shots at
me. There is a 50% chance you boy’s are going to get a due’s increase
if this humiliation continues. The other 50% due’s assessor is too
busy taking dance lessons in Knoxville because he heard there was a
talent contest coming for seniors with a grand prize of tickets for
two via Greyhound to the Bobby Darin exhibit at the Rock n Roll Hall
    of Fame.

    Hey,
    I wouldn’t make this stuff up…

I’m here and I don’t have a clue where here is, or how to get here.

I used to know how to get there, wherever that is, but now I can’t get there from here.

I have a few years experience buying and selling on Ebay. Most likely someone contacted the seller through Ebay or telephone (if he had one listed) and said something like “if the bus is as described I’ll give 130,000 cash if you’ll end the auction early” I’ve done this and have had similar offers made to me on items I’ve had listed. I found the bus I have now on Ebay.

Diane, Obviously I am living right, The other night we had a srong storm and the power was off for about two hours, I do not have a generator at the bus barn, as I do at the house. So I went down to the barn to make sure I did not have the shore power loss protection on, While in the barn I checked the sewer tank gauge perfect! tank was showing empty. gauge has been right ever since! So maybe the man above fixed it for me? By the way if you store your bus in an enclosed space without ventilation I would never leave the shore power protection on, I always use this feature at campgrounds because of my dog sometimes in the bus. I forgot to turn it off after parking the bus in the barn one time and was on my morning walk and heard the gen running opened the door and a lot of smoke lucky It did not affect the interior caught it early, Gary

These guys put their heart and soul into this website just for the likes of us !! There really should be dues… but since there are no dues maybe we should all make a small donation of appreciation every once in awhile… no set amount just what the heart moves us to do & keep it all private!

    Just a thought?

    Cheers, Diane

That’s the problem they don’t have replacement parts available for this unit anymore. So since I need to take out the dyer to get to the washer I’m (not me) the repair guy thought it best to replace them both while we were at it! The dyer works perfect so if anyone needs an Asko dyer just get ahold of me. I wont be getting them for about 5 weeks so after that you free to come on by Visalia.

    Double K,

No irritation from us over the slide vs non-slide, we take whacks at each other all the time in good natured fun. So keep posting and don’t be afraid to look at a non slide bus, we just turn the key and go while our slide buddies are dumping tags, pushing buttons hoping their slide motors or seals don’t break or the bus fails to go in gear because of a 100 micro switch that’s going to cost them 3,0000. See what I mean!:)

That is why when questions about conversions are asked, it is important to put the answers in the context of the coach being questioned.

I know I have some items that take 240 volts such as the outdoor grill or the cooking range, but I cannot say if all generators are set up to provide 240.

Paul, The Vantare has an advantage in that it’ll have Prevo full bus air, and their slides use HWH mechanisms and simple D seal….inexpensive and pretty easy to replace…plus they have been proved to be relatively trouble free.

Bernie, you are exactly correct for coaches with a 24V house bank. The Prevost side will always have a battery equalizer to supply the chassis required 12V. The same is true for those with 24V house banks. Although most 12V house loads are available in 24V, 12V versions are more prevalent and less expensive. With the efficiency of modern inverters and their reliabilty there are few few loads on the house side that really shouldn’t be switched to 120V.

As Li-Ion batteries become more common place in coaches I would expect to see most of the house side 12VDC loads to be migrated to 24VDC or 120VAC. I believe that move will occur then as electrical engineers become more involved in the total electrical needs for coaches.

    Paul,

The 2000 Marathon is at San Antonio, Fl and you should call Preston Green. It does have 365’s , updated front cap and lots of goodies.
