As much as we all want to see our coaches retain their value a 2001 is a 14 year old coach, and the market is cruel to older coaches with respect to retained value.

From the photos it looks like a nice coach, but the market has punished the values of Royale coaches because it is one of the conversions viewed as an orphan. Unstated is any proof of continued maintenance or any discussion of the de-lam issue. A big plus is the new tires and batteries, but I would suspect the high bid is going to end up well south of $200,000. That is a crime because there is so much real value in what appears to be a great coach.

If it looks as good in person as the photos show, if it has a good service history with records to back that up, and if the de-lam inspection comes out OK someone is going to get a nice coach.

Royale’s orphan status wouldn’t deter me. I’ve always felt that Royal conversions are about as similar to a Wanderlodge interior as you can get. There’s no mystery there. The wiring is pure household 120VAC wiring; nothing fancy, hardly anything for which you’d need the converter. And of course, the chassis is all Prevost, so that’s covered. As far as delam…, what’s the lifespan of Sikaflex 255 in applications like ours? 10 to 15 years maybe? The lifespan of a seated coach? Do we even know? These products are relatively new. Some manufacturers claim 25 year lifespans with no failures, but how do they define failure: a minor water leak, 5% detachment, 10%, or complete joint detachment? I don’t know, but I’m willing to guess that at some point many bus skins will need to be reattached. No big deal really, just take an afternoon and glue them back on! 🙂

E-bay is a great tool to get lots of exposure and you can bet if the price doesn’t measure up, it will get a phony purchase from the seller or buddies and you’ll see it back on the market with the excuse the buyer had to back out because of financing. So don’t be surprised to see it sell at a cheap price, it will turn back up.

As for Royale, I had one and would buy another in a heart beat. Well done coach, simple electronics and easy to maintain.

I hope the seller gets a lot, but the bids are going to slow down unfortunately. I hope I am wrong.

Has anyone successfully sold a late model Prevost on Ebay through the auction bidding?

eBay is a great tool for advertising. Especially, for cars and RV’s and Prevost coaches.

I am sure that the final deal is negotiated on the phone or in person with conditions that are not being advertised.

I have done this twice, years ago, when I found a Newmar Ventana on eBay, being offered by an AZ dealer. And I did it again last year when I bought a 911 from a dealer in FL.

It is my understanding, that registered dealers pay a small, flat fee to eBay to advertise their vehicles. So it is not surprising to see some of them advertising many at the same time. They have a worldwide audience and the cost to advertise is minimal.

Not a bad looking coach. I like the layout and hardwood used throughout.

They really have the Stainless shined up on that puppy.

I still can’t seem to get mine looking like that.

This coach was previously listed on Ebay in a reserve auction and didnot sell at $141,000. Let’s see what it does in a no reserve auction.

this coach is at 181075.00, not sure if that is a real purchase price but it will be interesting to see what this coach does. 2days to go. When I talked to the owner this week he had a few appointments setup for people to come see it.

earlier today, the high bid was $181K and change.

when I looked at it again just now, the high bid is reduced to $125,100 but it appears the number of bids is still the same.

I don’t know much about EBay nor auctions in general, but I wonder what would cause something like that to happen.
