Anyone at Jeff’s on the 9th?
Taking the 9 hour trek to Jeff’s for some chassis work on Sept. 8th to be there on the 9th….anyone else going to be there during that time? Really looking forward to “learning” a bit while I’m there getting my chassis service done, primary and auxiliary air system maintenance and hopefully hunt down a leak in the auxiliary air system. The wife decided to stay home for this one so I will be flying solo with my big newfie.

You’re in luck Jim.. On the 2nd Tuesday of each month Jeff provides doughnuts & coffee in the morning, pizza for lunch, dinner at the marina and use of a pontoon boat during the day. At least that’s what he told Red.

Heading down I-75 to 40 East to Jeff’s…..anything I should know about the route?

Stay on I-75, take route 72 east to Vonore, go north on 411, and just north of the village look for the Prevost Community sign on the left. Turn left there.

BOAT ??? What boat? I never got to use any boat !Closest I came to a boat was when patti and I ate dinner at a marina on route 72. I forget the name of the marina but it was nice.

Well, actually I-75 and I-40 join together for a while…
Coming South on I-75, stay South on I-75 as it joins I-40 West toward Nashville. On the extreme Western edge of greater Knoxville, I-75 South will split off of I-40 West. Again, stay on I-75 South. After that split a few miles you will cross some water and Highway 72 will be at Exit 72. 72 @ 72, easy to remember. Go to the left at the end of the ramp will put you East on 72 and then you can follow Jon’s directions…
Since Jon lives in the area, you can’t really trust him for directions. He’ll tell you to go past farmer John’s old place and turn by the oak tree that got chopped down 12 years ago…. He is actually right in telling you to stay ON I-75. But that doesn’t mean you stay OFF I-40. Just go West on I-40.

Jim is coming down I-75 as he says. Since he is already on I-75 any other information other than to get off at and go east on Rte 72 is extraneous. You forgot to tell Jim as he comes DOWN I-75 he has to go onto I-640, then west on I-40 before resuming his southbound trek down I-75. If you wanted to add to the directions it is OK to say not to take I-275 south, although that is OK as long as he then takes I-40 west, which doesn’t become I-75 south until it reaches I-640.
Now I am confused.

Hmm… You guy’s might want Jim to tell you of he’s coming I-75 south from KY or I-75 north from Choo Choo.

We will be there, hope to head that way in a few days. Jeff’s going to replace some windows, check for air leaks, recover seats, etc,etc. don’t know how long all this will take just need to be back in Texas by the 18th. Based on all the positive comments I’ve seen on the forum is the reason I’m going to Jeff. I’ve been to the other guys and Jeff fixed more and showed me more when we stopped by to talk to him about doing some work in the little time we were there than all the others together. Texas to Tenn. is a long way but I’m tired of dealing with folks that don’t know and don’t care.
