Looks like spare primary and secondary fuel filters should be in the list of items to keep in the tool box as a backup.

I replaced our Amana in about 2015/2016 with a Kenmore. Ran on the original MSW (or so I thought they were) until I got new inverters from Jeff at the end of Decenber 2017 (one had failed, probably coulda gotten it fixed, but they were from 1999 … how long could they be expected to last?). The MSW inverters didn’t seem to bother the new refrigerator, although I got lots of warnings about using MSW inverters with new electronics from many different directions.
I kept the original Amana, its sitting in the race shop not running. Had occasion to go into it last week. That sure was a first class refrigerator, all the shelving, niches, etc. are first class compared to the Kenmore.

Where are you Don, we can help refer you to someone. I’m assuming your using 134a and not R-12. The York compressors don’t last long, I’m on my 3rd in 4+ years. Like Jon said, you need to identify the leak and go from there with a compressor (they’re cheap) dryer, vacuum and Freon charge.

Because putting the slides in does nothing to prevent water entry on an XLII. The roof has a curve and even small amounts of water coming from the short sloped section can enter. The owner was leaving the slides in.
This alert was not something I dreamed up. I was accompanied by a couple of members of this forum quite a while ago when we saw a conversion that was being gutted to attempt to mitigate the mold and mildew damage that resulted from water entry on a coach that was stored at a resort when the owner was at his home base. All of us were overwhelmed by the stench of mold and mildew and the cost was up to hundreds of thousands to gut and rebuild the interior, something the insurance company was having a hissy fit about.
But if an owner wants to leave a coach at a RV park while he is gone for a length of time that is his choice. I am just alerting those that do that to be aware of the potential consequences.

The brackets are to stiffen the left and right side of the gear case on the Series 60 engines produced prior to 2001 to prevent oil leaks between the crankcase and the gear case in the location of the “diamond seal”. Engines after 2001 have these brackets factory installed as OEM. Mine didn’t have the brackets when I got it so I added them at the same time I did the 50DN alternator vent upgrade.
The bracket on one side is is smaller than the bracket on the other side. The reference to the “exhaust side” was just my way of describing which side of the engine the photo was showing instead of me saying “left” or “right” side of the engine. Sorry for the confusion.

While we are talking about the dryer; how about the washer screen-where is it on the Bosch

The 3 phillips head screws will sometimes work loose, because they go into plastic, and the lock jerks back and forth and can cause that. Then the switch will not be activated properly causing the light to stay on.
Also, not being lubricated will cause everything to stick and not travel far enough to depress switch arm.

Oh Jon … I don’t think you want to room with Bubba at the federal correction facility 🙂

Looks like I will be playing a lot of my Lennon Sisters VHS tapes in the future.
I don’t know if I am the only one, but if I add up my Comcast, Verizon and Direct TV bills it appears the total amount would support a small third world country. Maybe it is time to pull the old rabbit ears antenna out of the closet.

What Jack said is correct. When I run the dash only it is because I just want a little heat or some air flow. I cannot get A/C unless the entire system is on.

Correct Tom, and on my 94 the Deisel Kiki compressor and clutch are obsolete. I talked to CC, even though they haven’t done a conversion for years they still have alot of knowledge and familiarity of older conversions they did.
I talked to Greg, gave him my coach #, he was able to look up the specs. Basically at this point I’m sol trying to replace the clutch on this unit, so we’re going to swing by CC when we’re out there and update. ‘Till then we’ll just run the gen and the roof airs when needed…..no biggie!

Hey Fred, without enough hair to wear a ribbon how about a ribbon tattoo. I don’t think PC has an “official” color yet but maybe now is the time to cross that bridge, then you could use the official PC ink for the tattoo!
