I love Automation but when it comes to filling or dumping, this makes me nervous.

  • Don’t know the parts information, but mine has a plug about a 1/4″ from the top of the tank with two contactor’s wired to the the valve which appears to be sprinkler style valve. Once energized the valve opens, when the water makes contact with the two contact plug at the top of the tank it shuts down the valve.

Sorry for the vague explanation, I am not very good with electrical issues but do have a basic knowledge.

Swapped out the Cisco Router in the coach due to the iPads losing Wi-Fi signal to control the Crestron system with an Asus Mesh router. Put main router under the bed (where the Cisco router was located) and put the mesh router under the dishwasher. Signal strength is awesome and no more losing Wi-Fi signal on the iPads. Additional benefit – Crestron app loads super fast. Then I opened forwarding ports on the Asus router so I can remotely log into the coach when miles away using cellular service. I bought a static ip from Verizon thru the http://www.5g store.com for $12 a month and placed the Verizon sim in the Sierra Wireless GX450 modem permanently mounted on the coach. Works like a dream.

Oh for crying out loud. We have annual opacity testing in colorado. Do you actually know what 40% opacity LOOKS like?

i recently tested our 1978 Mercedes 300cd coupe with naturally aspirated 5 cyl in line non turbo diesel car. Its rated allowable opacity of 40%. After testing, tester told me car runs well at 3%. Holy cow, i said. At 3% it leaves quite soot cloud. So 40% must be a thick dense wall of a soot cloud.
One of our former busses, a 1992 XL40 converted by Beaver Coach had to do testing as well annually while we owned it between 2009-15

Annually once again, it put out quite the soot cloud upon accelerated startup from stop, it passed

Colorado emissions testing is the same California.

Those temps are programmable by a dealer. Initial Prevost Series 60 owners got scared when they saw the engine temps compared to their 8V92 175 degree readings so in some cases they had the temp set points reprogrammed.

Prevost told me for my DDEC3 60 series low speed is engaged at 200*f and high speed at 204*f . I installed a ScanGaugeD last winter and I can see high speed kick on at 204.

A lot of buyers fail to recognize that a 13 year old coach with 30,000 miles may be a bigger maintenance nightmare than one with 300,000 miles.

These are commercial buses designed to run over 100,000 miles per year and have a life well in excess of a million miles. Keeping everything exercised avoids a lot of issues resulting from components that don’t move regularly and rubber components that age out. Tires last much longer if exercised. It is likely true the same thing applies to other items ranging from air bags to Norgren valves to brake chamber diaphragms.

But it is a waste of time trying to explain that to a buyer.

we need to have the Marathon bus number to get any history. It will be a 4 digit number around 1100.

    FYI

Purchase our Coach about 5 yrs ago. Searched for over a year and half. Made the decision to purchase it knowing it needed a lot of attention/money but the price was right.
Looking back I would have been better off financially, buying one for more money that had already been gone through. Having said that, I now know more about my coach than I ever thought I would and know each and every thing that was done giving me a great amount of confidence in my coach.

Dave, just had the Valor system installed at Marathon Coburg. I like it so far but I will reserve opinion until I have used it a while.
