  • Relay buzz

Posted by Isaiah on June 8, 2023 at 3:31 pm

I have found the buzzing, but dont know what to do from here.

My old fridge would buzz when I was on inverter power. The fridge ended up being shot and I purchased a new relay and installed it. I also purchased a new fridge and installed that.

Today I was testing the inverters and fridge to see if everything works. I turned off the shore power and the bus switched over to the heart 25 inverters. My damn buzz is back.

I had replaced the old midtex 187-32t200 relay with the same part. The new relay is still buzzing.

Anyone else ran into this issue?

Well that relay supplies power to the dash light and that is it according to liberty. I will pull fridge back out and pull the fuse. The buzzing drives me nuts

Took off the panel and pulled wires to relay and problem was fixed. No dash light but no buzz, that’s a win

The new refrigerator will not like the power from those Xratrex Heart inverters they are Modified sine wave inverters. When I replaced my old Whirlpool refer I also replaced the Modified sine wave inverters with Magnum 2812 Pure sine wave inverters, I was always told the old electronics were ok with Modified but new electronics does not like them. That’s what I was told!

My GE fridge, installed in 1999, worked for 20 years on a modified SW inverter. Never an issue, never a hiccup. Still working when I traded it a few years back. My current Fisher Paykel is also working just fine on a MSW inverter.

My old Whirlpool still worked after 20 plus years, inverters had some issues they also were 20 plus years, It might work with old inverters but might not down the road I was told that the new electronics are way more sensitive then the old stuff

The relay buzz wasnt related to operation of fridge, just the operation of the light on the dash while driving.

We have a circa 2016 GE refrigerator with Heart Interface Freedom 25 inverters, the fridge works fine.
