  • Valor tire pressure monitor system

Posted by Dave on June 4, 2023 at 8:19 am

Does anybody have an opinion on Valor tire pressure monitor systems? Marathon says they can install that system on my 05 XL2. It is the system they use on new coaches. I have found the web site but can’t find a pic of the monitor. This system uses sensors strapped to the inside of the wheel that I like. I had TST system on last SOB coach that worked OK but tire temp was supposed to be read from the end of the valve stem (how accurate is that??).

Has anybody had this system installed on an earlier XL2 coach? What is your experience???

Internally mounted sensors are very good but dismounting the tire is necessary for install and service. Fortunately, that is not very often.

My TST sensors are on the end of metal valve stems which transfer heat much better than rubber ones. While the stem temp may not be the same temp as the air in the tire, it is relative. So if the internal temp is 90 and the stem temp is 85 and the temp stays that way you have learned 85 is okay. Therefore if the temp goes way above 85, you are alerted something is amiss with that tire.

Pick the system that suits you best.

Dave, just had the Valor system installed at Marathon Coburg. I like it so far but I will reserve opinion until I have used it a while.

Dave, I’m not able to post a pix of mine right now but, if you go on Valor web site there are pix. I had my monitor mounted on the Dash just next to the backup camera screen. You can mount it where ever you like as long as you can access the back easily. Mine is mounted on Velcro
