You have a air cylinder tensioner system?? First thing I’d check. That and the valve to control them. On my old 91 XL the seals were leaking on my cylinder and control valve allowing the belts to run a little loose.

It depends on the programmer and or the company they work for. Password protecting a PLC program is usually only used when the Code is Proprietary for example. If it is password protected, and you have the password, and you can find someone to connect to the PLC, ask them to remove the Password protection. There is really no reason for it to be password protected, If you lose the password it makes it very tough to access the Code. What you want is the .RSS file, that is your PLC program.

How did you know that’s where she sits during travel days? I am Kidding, I am Kidding!

If someone were to repackage a mini split outdoor unit so it was only as tall as a Cruisair, they’d dominate the coach market. I finally committed to removing my Cruisairs this year, but haven’t settled on which mini split setup I’m using. It’s a challenge.

Welcome to the exciting world of Prevost! My first suggestion is to look at as many coaches as you can. I have purchased both from a private seller and a commercial reseller. Both have their positives and negatives. You are smart to try to find as many maintenance records as possible, but you will likely not find much. It’s not that the previous owners didn’t do maintenance, but records seems to disappear when cleaning out a coach for sale.
Look on this site for used coaches. The others you mention are also good choices. I’m fairly handy, but don’t have a big shop for doing alot of heavy maintenance, so my strategy for repair is:
House – Either do it myself of let the Converter do the repairs/updates.
Engine – Typically let Detroit Diesel work on their engine. They built it….
Chassis – I’m close to a Prevost service center. They know their coaches.
You will need to decide how much of the work you want to take on and develop your strategy for maintenance and repairs.
The biggest secret to remember is you will spend a small pile of money on your new coach when you get it. Does it need tires? Maintenance catch-up and zero-ing out. Remodeling and upholstery. Electronics updating. Develop your maintenance plan and get things up to speed early. Nothing more disappointing than cutting a trip short due to a breakdown.

Thanks for pointing that out, Mike. I initially wanted to use all stainless steel parts, but shifted to all zinc-plated parts due to cost. I had some concern about potential corrosion when the guy at McMaster-Carr suggested the stainless steel substitution for the back-ordered turnbuckle rod, but I thought that was more of a long-term concern. I did some reading last night about galling and galvanic corrosion. I’m starting to suspect that the issue I had with the threads may actually have been galling. The stainless steel rod and zinc-plated female coupler certainly locked together, taking maximum effort to separate them with severely-damaged threads. Really, it took almost all my strength with a 12″ long wrench and a bench vise. It doesn’t make sense to me now that bad tolerances on the threads would have caused that when I used very little effort when threading them together.
I found a shorter jack screw/turnbuckle rod that will still work. The eBay listing doesn’t mention it, but I think it’s a yellow zinc coating. I found other sites that seem to have the same part with a better description. I’ll just need to cut a longer piece of threaded rod to make up for the lost length. As a benefit, this piece has 3/4″ hex flats, so the 1/2″ wrench won’t be necessary anymore.

Thanks all!
Tom, I have an M&G on my Jeep and love it – but there is not room to install one on the master cylinder in a mini.

I just had my 2018 Mini Cooper hardtop, 6 speed manual, set up for towing behind my Sprinter.
The tech used the Demco model 6258 supplemental braking system. They tell me it reacts to the brake lights of the Sprinter. The Demco switch mechanism is setup in the passenger foot well if I want to turn it off (in case someone stole the plug at the bumper).
So far, I’ve towed it twice and it seems to work smoothly.
I looked at the attachment of the brake cylinder at the brake pedal. It doesn’t get in my way as I wear a size 10 shoe.
The Mini is a fun little car to have!
Safe travels,
Mark

Good point Tom,
Bosch might offer a cooling kit for this alternator. Worth the investment. Alternator fire could wipe out your bus !
Prevost factory has taken this step on most alternators running a pipe downward to draw cool air.

What do you have now? post up some pictures. matching fabrics and counter tops can be difficult. fabrics, designs and counter tops all affect the cost

To Bill and Jessica, thank you for wanting to continue such a wonderful site to help further the knowledge of Prevost coaches and the fellowship of 5000+ members.
Hope to see both of you down the road in the future.
Good Luck
