So glad cheeeef made it to the party. Couldn’t have asked to meet a nicer group of folks. Thanks for organizing and thanks to all for welcoming us to our first prevost gathering. The above photos are incredible. After the eclipse, we sat in traffic for a few hours before bailing out in Idaho falls and the open arms of KJs travel/truck stop. Pulled down the shades, cranked the a/c and watched Netflix. Now we’re parked at deadman’s pass rest stop in Oregon – we love the prevost life!
Hope to see you down the road. -
Tom,
Didn’t mean to offend you. I do have respect for truck drivers. They do a vital service to our nation, and I know most truck drivers are good guys that put up with a lot. I always try to be courteous to truck drivers; I pull over to the left lane when I see a big truck coming in the interstate; if I’m in the left lane and see a driver about to get trapped behind another truck, I’ll slow down if I can to let him (her) over; and I blink my ICC to let a passing truck know it’s safe to pull over. And I always pull the coach up from the fuel pump when I’m done so a trucker can pull up to the pump–something I see more and more truckers don’t do. Nevertheless, we also see more and more bad driving from truckers. Back when you were driving and I saw truckers on the road, they drove like the professionals they were.
My initial response on this thread was to give Harry some information. Somehow it turned into a thread to tell me I’m wrong using a system I know works, and works safely.

Yep!
In many respects, I much prefer my Zip Dee Window Awnings … which I usually don’t retract unless the winds get over 30mph.

Hello Ronald and Gabi!
Yes, we have done the ‘Grand Canyon Train’ staying at the RV park in Williams, AZ, and it is very nice. Keep in mind that the train will be ambushed by bandits on horses commiting a train robbery (on the return trip). Have a little cash for tips. It’s a fun adventure.
You might want to book seats in the “Parlor Car” as we thought that was the best place to be and has a small porch on the back.
The old El Tovar Hotel on the rim is a nice place to have lunch.

Hi Rodger. Are you sure the lights around the bathroom mirror are low voltage? When I had the sister of your bus, we installed compact flourescents around the mirror and they worked great. They were 120 volt bulbs. Nowadays you can find LED bulbs in the same configuration.

I would think that if the brakes were locked there would be no tread marks in the tracks, like I see. Specially in a gravel parking lot, I know I once left gas station with the toad brakes on and I made a real rut throught the gravel. I am wonder if the tag is not down on that side putting more weight on that side.

Thanks Diane, I needed that to show Jeff.
Fred if you would have left them here Bill would not be able to find them cause I keep my bay doors locked at all times.
Seen too many people lookling around mighty suspiciously.
I have two of Jeff’s security cameras zoomed in on my coach.

It also helps to have active braking provided by your toad. There are several systems available that will apply the toad brakes proportionally to the application of the coach brakes. If you have a toad but have not gotten around to installing the active brake system(s), then going down hill you have the free wheeling weight of your toad PUSHING the bus downhill faster and placing an increased load on the bus brakes when you need to apply them – read heating the only brakes you have to higher temps each time the brakes are forcefully applied.
So get out their and spend some money for a supplimental braking system for your toad, now.

Thanks Rudy. One of these days will stop by.

And you can use the dogs as a floor mop for that nice floor!

I have replaced my fuel line check valve as it was leaking but it is very hard to reach and I dont think I could have reached it if I hadn’t had my bus on my grease pit. Its a brutal job.
