The speed control module operates like a direct current dimmer of appropriate wattage using pulse modulation. Could be a short in the output stage. But make sure all connectors are clean and fully seated first.

Our bus has the Vanner 60-100C battery equalizer too.

I like to carry spare repair parts if they aren’t too bulky or costly.

Here is the Vanner equalizer pdf: LINK

Call American Fleet listed above. If you are anywhere near there, go there after talking to them. If you are handy enough to swap out an engine, they will build an engine for you based upon your serial number and deliver it to you ready to install. I guess you ship your old one back for the core credit but it’s 1/2 the price of an in-frame rebuilt and it’s factory perfect.

We had them put a new engine in our ’88 but we went to them. We arrived, they pulled the engine and the new engine was sitting there waiting on us. 2 days later we were on the road again.

    Great folks!

Having a pass gives you a discount. Sometimes as much as 20-30% over bill by plate or stopping to pay them especially if you happen to be traveling thru during high traffic times. Illinois charges more if you pay cash if you are on the road during rush hour.

That is what was happening Jon, originally the bus would start fine and both CE lights would go out but come back on within 5 seconds and stay on until the engine shut down at about 30 seconds.

So attempt to spin the engine with a breaker bar while using the start button, if it spins the starter is free you say? That is much easier for me than attempting a jumper to the starter to see if it turns!

The check valve portion is the 90* part on the left. It is a Bendix SC-3, pt# 800376, available on ebay etc. It’s on p.27 of this Bendix catalog: LINK

Just got home and ran a jumper across the solenoid. Still just clicking, bus will not start. Also, battery voltages are good and battery meter on the dash shows good voltage.

When the key is turned on the speedometer and tach do cycle.

Just break the tab from a good relay and keep it in your spares.

Steve, ECU King in Santa Fe, TX, (409/927-1800) will diagnose your ECU for free. You pay shipping each way. If you approve, they will fix ECU for a flat fee. My fix done in one day was $1000 and included fixing the control board and the power board both. So, I ended up with a virtuall new ECU

    Still owned by the wholesaler

Still wanting that price . Probably worth about 150

I dont think there are newer maintenance histories as the coach has not been owned by a buyer for about 17 months.

Interested in how many people use their fresh water tank water for drinking and ice, coffee, and other personal consumption.

I have another PC member who says he doesn’t use for personal consumption but does add chlorine to each filing of the tank.

Second thought is how long will you allow water to remain in tank before dumping o refill?
