I am looking for a 40 ft unit. I would prefer a 97 and up XL
I came across the above unit
It was for sale about 6 months ago at Marathon fla. Is anyone familiar with this coach. Supposedly it was inspected for delam but I have not verified. I really like the layout. It has a lot of upgrades
But the black exterior might be prone to delamination.Any comments appreciated.

They must have wholesaled it, sat in San Antonio, FL for quite awhile, I looked it over on the outside and I can’t offer any comments. It had 118K then. It’s over priced in my opinion and you surely want to get it inspected at Prevost for delam.

Don and June are great folks. They took great pride in the coach and Don did a great job of maintaining and improving it. I believe it was last at Marathon in Eugene. Don will be able to give you great information.

Dan and I spoke at length.Great guy! I called the owner and he was tooglad to share his knowledge of this beauty. It is a nice coach. One of the posters on this thread stated he examined the exterior but did not want to comment . Why?

I understand that both Marathon and Prevost offer some sort of prepurchase exam
Typically who pays for this service? Sounds expensive.

It will not be anywhere near as expensive as buying a coach with a big problem like a failing engine or delamination.
The buyer pays.

its like a home inspection. You pay and the results of the PPI are yours. If the seller pays – (not saying this would happen here) – many things important to you could be left out or overlooked.
And just to be facetious – but if someone said they didnt want to comment, not sure they would tell you why here.

No matter what else, do you DD. The price they are asking is VERY high for a 2003 XLII. You need to find out why they think it’s worth that much and if you are OK with that justification.

Thank you Bill. I am aware that the coach is way overpriced.zI would not travel to see it at anywhere near that price. There has tobe a reason it did not sell after being at Marathon and now with a father aand son who do not have a facility. The video and pictures show it as a nice looking unit. The previous owner looked after the coach but who knows what has happened since. The po told me it had the dekam test. Apparently there were some bubbles at the upper area where a fiberglass panel covers where a passenger coach would gave a window
I did not know there was any fiberglass on the sides Marathon ssealed those areas with epoxy.. ?????

Ask for a copy of the delam report from Prevost.

If I go further with this purchase I would want a fresh test. .I think the existing one is a few years old. I am a businessman retired. I am getting a bad feeling. The unit might be ok but there are too many people involved in the sale. I usually follow my gut feeling. A fellow BBluebird owner lives in Greenville and he is going to look over the unit.
