Had pulled into Malibu RV park last Thursday and we had a beautiful spot up on top level over looking the ocean and the park But! A little hard to get into, I had to jockey the bus around in a tight area so I was forward,Backward quite a few times in a short little area and not looking at the pad it started to beep, I think it was a solid beep but there was no letters or numbers on the screen just a couple of squegels, It would not go into gear at all just a solid beeped. Turned off engine restarted and back in action, It kind of freaked me out, I don’t know If I pushed more then 1 button or what any ideas. Drove home home everything seemed to be fine. I should look and see if any errors come up?

If you can read your history of codes it would be interesting to see what shows up.

Your key pad has the ability to display codes, but maybe not history.

Go on line and pull up the manual for the transmission if you do not have it.

    Art,

This hapened on our last coach that had the same transmission. I recommend you take it to a certified Allison repair facility. We ended up having to replace the ECM.

If I was a certified Allison repair facility and a potential customer came to me with that problem I would do whatever I could to vacuum the Benjamins from their wallet.

As an Allison owner I first want to determine exactly what is going on and what the potential cause, problems and possibly a repair.

With all the little electrons running around in our coaches, sometimes it is as simple as disconnecting power to the ECM and letting the system reboot. If I sound cynical about repair facilities it is because I am.

Jon I totally agree with you, I am a do it your selfer, If I can fix it I will. All I read about codes nothing says about a beep sound?

Silly as this sounds I can’t remember if I get a beep sound from my transmission key pad, either putting it in gear, shifting gears, or doing diagnostics like checking fluid level.

I blame that on old age.

My pad beeps with each button/key press. Possible that you held down a button or pressed 2 at the same time??

I have reading a bunch of info on Allison so I looked on the Prevost book and I’m in the transmission section lots of info and if you push too many buttons you will get a shifter tone. It also talks about a do not shift light! where is that?

On the display. You do not want to see that one.

do you get a service light when it beeps? Mine did once(previous coach) and was a tad low on atf. Changed fluid and filter. Never happened again. Prob disregard what what I just posted but keep it in back of your mind. The service light was very noticeable.
