We got some at the local RV supplies store at home in S. Florida. It’s called Secure Holder Reusable Adhesive Putty, but I’m sure there are numerous brand names. Works great.

Owning a Prevost is almost like having to know the secret handshake or having a decoder ring.

I am sure every conversion has its little quirks or secrets. Life with a conversion would be so simple if all converters did the same thing with respect to anything from turning on the lights to operating the heat or AC systems, but they don’t and until a person learns how to get all the right buttons pushed nothing works. I have 6 Crestron touch pads. But only 2 have AC controls on them. But even if I found the right touch pad, the right page on the touch pad and then pushed the right icon, the AC would not work until I turned on the SMX control and had the correct circuit breakers turned on.

It’s no wonder it takes days of training to learn how to operate the coach.

Taking a house problem to a Prevost Service center is like having a plumber fix your computer.

Water leaks do not fix themselves.

Ray, There should be nothing in the hose or plastic line, but pulling it should be easy so you can examine it.

It takes me about 10 minutes to remove the line, flush it clean, inside and out and return it to the tank.

I think the program is great!

I use it at all my fuel stops. Even when Love’s is harder to find (like Florida), I manage to find a Flying J or Pilot.

As far as security for your checking account, they are all FDIC insured and I usually keep a very low amount in checking anyway so the risk is minimal.

The reason I would use a credit card is simply to get reward points. But I believe the discount is more advantageous in getting the cash price vs. credit card price.

Please keep in mind, agreed value is not the same as stated value. With stated value, it’s nothing more than fair market value subject to depreciation and you’ll get hosed big time. Here’s the catch phrase for stated value:

“In the event of theft or a total loss we will pay the Stated Value

or the Actual Cash Value, whichever is less.”

I just did this dance when making FL my new residence thinking I could save some money by going with Allstate who has my auto’s, home and excess. Sure the premium was lower, but no way they could do Agreed Value, even though they said they could, it actually was Stated Value. I paid more and stayed with Explorer.

So don’t fall for the lingo unless your OK with taking a huge beating in the event of a loss. Just ask someone who has been through this process, Jon, with a major fire years ago and National came through. Read your policy, you may have a big surprise.

I’m not sure what, but this picture says something about the relationship between knowledge and creativity of a previous owner.

Most breakers trip internally, free of the handle, to prevent this “creative repair.” Apparantly it worked for him. Plug in another kitchen appliance!

    Per,

I decided to see how to get you out of your dilemma and while I don’t have an easy answer I have some thoughts.

First, I am assuming the rod you pull to release the door ends at a mechanism like the one shown below.

The rod at the bottom of the photo pulls the lever and that releases the door. If the rod breaks or becomes disconnected the lever isn’t going to move. Obviously your first step is to extend something through the hole(s) the rod extends through to catch and pull the lever.

Unless you are very lucky the rod you have will have to extend into the bay and you will somehow have to find the hole in the lever and then pull. You are better off to create a slightly longer rod with a very short hook on the end so it will pass through the rod holes in the chassis, and past the lever, and then hook it as you pull back.

This is a slightly different view, and it shows if you run the new rod in it will only go so far as to hit the steel housing. Then from that, orient the hook so it will catch on the lever, and pull back. You may have to drilll the holes in the chassis to a larger diameter to allow room for the hook.

    Hope this helps.

Having replaced the wax ring and the vent valves on the coach… I am familiar with the experience…

But further to the things snooty Prevost owners do….

    Try the NARA Nationals…

Just get your grand son and go set up behind a “sling shot dragster”in the pits being rebuilt…

have your ear muffs on… when they crank it up…. the ground shakes, your teeth rattle, your ears hurt from the sound and your face shake from the concussion … the nitrous fills the air and your eyes water…

It doesn’t get any better than that…

Look at the other post by Dick regarding voltages, that’s a good picture of his late 90’s vintage Liberty remotes.

I won’t be at the rally. Please tell us more what about kind of natural rubber you’re using. Type, thickness, where sourced.

    Prez,

Don’t sweat it. Most of the time we have no clue what we are doing, and when we answer questions we usually just make stuff up.
