Well, slight hitch in the problem. Talked to the owner/engineer of the company, QFD Accessories, Inc. He recalls that his company did make the privacy shades for Marathon coaches, using Marathon’s specifications (because of the “hump” of the dashboard). But, since that time, QFD has modified the design of the spool housing (it’s a little larger now) and he did not think the spool mechanisms they make nowadays will fit in the slots/compartments Marathon made to have a built-in appearance for the shades. He said he would go back into the company’s archives to see if they still have the design records in order to verify that. He sounded doubtful that their current product would work for us. But he said he’ll get back to me when he’s had a chance to look for the old records.

The reason for the piggy back is you were in la la land when you posted it to the tire thread, so I copied it stuck it in the right place. Your dues will be going up for the inconvenience.

Al, I have a Baldwin PA-2839 number listed or Fram CA7113 or Nelson 70337-N
Those work for my 2005 chassis.

The coach air system keeps the coach level and non-swaying in heavy winds.
Well, today was a 55 mph day for over 350 miles. The wind was horrendous…. 60 mph plus wind gusts.
But, the advantage was that it was pushing us east. So, for two days we covered over 750 miles, I have averaged 9 mpg on the dash computer. At just over 750 miles, the fuel gauge is halfway between 1/2 and 3/4…. I’ll make 850 miles at half a tank easy if tomorrow is like it was today (wind blowing east). Normally, we would be getting 6-7 depending on the terrain.

The fact the device has a fan sends a strong message that it is heat sensitive. It is relying on fresh cool air the compartment fan delivers for cooling. Sounds like Vantare did a good job considering how to protect your investment.

4000 watts is about 33 amps at 120 volts. I cannot recall seeing the starting current draw on my Cruiseairs approaching that. If they do it is a momentary response and I was of the opinion an inverter has the capacity to handle XX watts continuous and a greater value for surge.
What am I missing?
I am guessing the trace are not pure sine wave, or are they?

Rick… learning curve is right. Spent the last 23 years in a GM4104. On Thursday we’re going for a short-ish trip to a Southeast Bus Nuts rally in Wimauma, FL. Never been there, but we have lots of friends in that group. Lots of different buses — MCI, Eagle, GM — but they do allow Prevosts to join them. Not sure how to send e-mail address, does this board have a way to PM?

Elecric valve in the heater hose that controls the amount of coolant to the heater core.
solenoid valve designed for smooth closing is
used to control the coolant flow through the
driver’s heating unit. The valve is made of
forged brass with internal brass or stainless steel
parts. It is mounted on the coolant inlet line of
the driver’s heating unit, and is accessible
through the spare wheel compartment (Fig. 41).
The valve cannot be manually bypassed.

Joel, I would bet serious money the corrosion was external. Even a poorly maintained coolant offers a high degree of corrosion protection, but the external shell from what I have seen has a poor quality exterior finish, and to compound that problem it sits low enough behind the rear wheels that it is likely exposed to the salt, grit and sand kicked up off the highway to accelerate rusting.

Thanks everyone. Guess I’ll stick with what I have. Was able to get the 22.5 foot galvanized steel tube out and disassembled. Will order the new tube and see where I can get it delivered (or if they can deliver it to me directly, I am sure it will come by truck).
The cloth is still fine, just bend the long tube in the middle. Everything else is fine as well (all the arms are straight and perfect).
On Airstreams site, they show the tubes at around $100 a foot (plus shipping) so shouldn’t be that bad.

Dan I keep my bus in the shop un heated plugged into 50 amp I use cube heater inside and one cube heater in water bay , I do not use the coach systems to keep bus warm just set them for back up so if one of the cube heaters fail I will be ok I set them about 45 so if something fails they will come on and coach will be ok, if it’s really cold I put two cube heaters inside , I like to keep water bay about 50 degrees and inside about 50 all winter has always worked for me up to -35F . I never drain the water out its ready to go at any time

I have the 6 speed Allison, also. I had wiring damage from rodents and had Inland Truck in Dallas do the work. My Jake was programmed to come on in 4th gear. Very large jolt. I had them reprogram to 5th. Very smooth transition and I believe easier on the equipment.
