Your key pad has the ability to display codes, but maybe not history.

Go on line and pull up the manual for the transmission if you do not have it.

All the converters wire their conversions differently, so what I am about to say may not apply to your coach. The battery temp sensor (I have 2) are a small plastic box that is on top of one battery in each section held in place by double sided tape. The wire connection looks like an old land line phone wire. just disconnect the wires from both plastic boxes. I have two banks of batteries. One bank of 4 is wired to give 12VDC and the other bank of 4 is wired to give 24VDC. Each bank has a temp sensor. As far as one inverter going to float at a different time than the other, on my Trace Inverters this is a normal function, since it appears each one is reading one bank, so one bank can go to float before the other bank. Just one word of caution. If you are going to disconnect the batteries for some reason such as load testing your batteries, shut down the inverters. Otherwise the inverters will see no voltage from the batteries, since you disconnected them, and will start trying to charge the batteries at the maximum rate. This will cook the charging board in the inverter and you are going to be handing someone several pictures of Benjamin Franklin. Ask me how I know.

Keep asking questions. You can learn by asking questions on this Forum, or you can learn by handing out Ben’s picture … your choice.

I agree with Jimmy, and want to add as a general rule regarding overnight stops. Quit driving early and you almost always get your choice of good parking spots. The longer you drive the harder it becomes to find decent safe stopping places.

Ron, no team / tag drive – I start driving about 5am with full tank of fuel, use performance drive in the hills and economy where terrain / road permits, speed limit – 70mph/adapt, couple light sandwiches, dark chocolate and water. As long as wife does not complain of being “tired”… my max driving time is about 15/16 hrs. I thought I keep it shorter this time, plan was to get to Prevost / JAX, but with the holiday on Monday(Oct 14th), I am sure will get some traffic around DC.

Of course, this is the plan, trying to work the plan, but will adjust accordingly if not safe due to traffic / getting tired prematurely.

Jimmy, thanks for your advice, actually I found a new RV Campground on Exit 94, on 204, going West 1/2 mile, Creekfire – Motorcoach Ranch with pull thru sites. Cracker barrel is just East on 204. I downloaded the CB app, also found RV Parky app really handy.

Thanks everyone for your input, safe travels!

You would think that ole Cajun that just moved into a new house (without wheels) would have better things to do then try and stir up crap on PC. I felt obligated to help the old boy for a couple years while he set up permanent residence at ETLC claiming to be the Camp Ground Director, but in reality, he was just sucking up free electric and water. So during that time I gave Buddy Jon’s dues money knowing Jon would never miss it, chump change in his words.

So I have no dog in this fight, Buddy and Jon can sort out funds between them.

    Harry – You are a star…..

Don’t know about your converter, but Angola not only screwed the mounting blocks to the floor, they glued them to avoid squeaks. Then they glued the box side panels to the blocks.

when I replaced the carpet I never got my behind the drivers seat box removed. The hardwood had to go around not under the cabinet as I planned.

the carpet may hide the screws from outside the box to the mounting blocks. Try pulling the carpet back.

Aux Compressor breaker at the load center: ON

Key turned to: ON (just before you engage the starter)

Compressor doesn’t run? Fill up the engine belt bellows with air and tighten them?

Do you have a Liberty Elegant Lady (24 volt coach) or a Liberty Class Lady (12 volt coach)? What about your other Liberty installed air features like the air lift for the bed? Air operated pocket doors? Air assisted toilet? Air operated dump valves? If you have those air operated features do they work?

The short answer on starting with the belts loose … yes, but as Jeff directs you use low idle. Once the coach starts to build air off the Detroit Diesel, the bellows should fill and tighten the belts. Then you can go to high idle.

Your name, year, chassis type, converter, and converter model in your signature will us help you.

Wow! It’s here! It’s arrived. Hats off to Elan Musk.

My thoughts on the autonomous driving car. I’ve had my pilots license since the month after high school. Private license evolved into seaplane rating, instrument rating, and commercial (SEL). I built some time, had some fun, charmed the ladies, and have been inactive for a long time.

I started out with a simple panel, got my instrument rating without any autopilot, and learned to fly ADF approaches. I thought a sophisticated panel had a second ADF and a steam gauge DME.

I look at all the “fancy stuff” whether in an aircraft or a vehicle is nothing more than a pilot or driver aid or assisting tool.

Cruise control in the car, truck, or bus is probably the oldest driver assist tool we’ve had available to us. I use it all the time. Once I’m above 25mph in most situations my cruise is engaged. I tap my speed up and tap it down. (Driving mostly GM products over the years makes this really easy.) I use it in the coach almost as much as I use it in the car. I like that button under my left hand to disengage the CC.

I’d really like to have access to adaptive cruise that can sense the vehicles ahead of me and if I have adaptive engaged, adjust my speed to match … IF I’ve engaged the match speed feature. If I haven’t engaged that feature, give me a series of lights that tell me whether there is a closing rate or not. I’ll make my own decisions. I’d find nothing wrong with a red flashing light if the computer determines that given my speed and my deceleration, the speed and deceleration of the vehicle in front of us, and the distance between us will result in some level of contact. After using it for a while, I might leave it on or I might turn it off.

I’d really like to have access to proximity warning devices for the corners of the coach, trailer, or toad. Green light if nothing in the next lane and ample room to move into the lane (ample room would change with speed), amber light if I’m clear but the next vehicle in the lane is too close given my speed, and red light if there is something over there.

BUT … I don’t want to give control of the vehicle (braking or steering) over to the computer for autonomous driving. I’m NOT ready for that … yet. After thousands or tens of thousands installs, millions or tens of millions of miles, and numerous software and hardware upgrades (and evidence that Jon Wehrenberg uses it once in a while) then I might try it. Emphasis on “might”.

I’d be interested in the thoughts of you guys who have lots of time in complex, high performance aircraft with sophisticated autopilots and flight directors and how that technology applies to cars, trucks, and buses. I might be too inexperienced with that fancy stuff and naive, but I don’t think comparing autopilots in aircraft to autonomous driving systems in ground based motor vehicles is a fair comparison.

    Sure! Thanks Jon!

I have to pull my Washer/dryer out and replace what I hope is a broken belt I hoped it might be back there behind that since they are next to each other. My fridge sits right over the road-air so no luck in that bay where “I” would have conveniently placed it! HAHA!

When I prime it I get volts to glow plugs and fuel pump runs but it doesn’t change pitch that much, the fuel pump is not original it is a black plastic pump that the 1st owner put on, I see on the Powertech web site they have a pump for all their diesel gens, I wonder if I should try a different pump?? I guess I could try checking pressure off pump? It is a low PSI pump, New pump says 5.5 to 9 PSI
