intermittent pump issue
Puchased a 2002 H3 Featherlight great coach we love it, but this one issue is driving us crazy the headhunter water pump shuts off after use and you have to push the button off and back on in order to flush the toilet or anytime you need ot use the water… has anyone one else come across this issue? thanks in advance

It may be possible that your cut on/off pressure switch is set below the air pressure in your pressure tank on your pump. Just a guess.

When that condition occurs, it is usually the pressure switch inside the pump that has failed. Usually die to age. You can replace the switch or for 599 or 699 I believe you can get a whole new pump. Call Headhunter.

Call to headhunter paid off, the were able to trouble shoot over the phone took the serial number off of pump found that there is a bad internal pressure switch and are sending me a new pump for $669 vs $1300 on Amazon

Why not just the pressure switch ? I had the same issue and replaced the switch but also purchased a spare pump just in case . I hope by having a spare the original will never go bad .

The Headhunter pump is a 3 stage pump. The pressure switch is sorta over priced. It makes sense to some to replace the entire pump and have everything new for another 10 years or so. If the pressure switch leaks it can flood the electric module compartment in the pump. The sections of the pump do wear out as they are centrifugal. Each section generates 20 psi cumulative. So if your pump only generates 40 psi, one section has failed. Plus the sections do wear.
For some it just makes sense to replace the pump, for some it does not.

I have the same issues described in this thread and talking to Headhunter about the problem, they suggested either it is (1) a leak causing a loss of pressure or (2) an issue with the pump.
I was offered the same 50% discount most others will receive and ordered a pump at about $695 which is in my hands and awaiting installation.
Installation is an easy DIY job, I am just not in the right place right now.
I have questioned this several years ago on this board, when I replaced the previous pump.
The question was, why am I paying about $1300 for a new pump and can get a 50% discount when I am replacing the same model?
I said then and will say now, that I am buying a pump that is 50% overpriced.
Anyways, I am, hopeful that replacing the pump will solve my problem.
