Just be sure to protect the integrity of the PC forum. Some of the Fakebook stuff sent to me was not only wrong, it was cited as the gospel which is misleading at best, and dangerous potentially. Repeat wrong information often enough and people believe it to be true.
New owners who tend to use Fakebook ask questions, get a bogus answer and only after it bites them in the butt do they ever realize almost 100% of the answers they seek are at their fingertips in the form of owners or operators or service manuals available on the Prevost Car site.
To get answers from people who have hands on experience (PC has many very good owners willing to share) owners just have to learn who are really very accurate compared to those who shoot from the lip.

I purchased mine from Prevost. Price was reasonable, shipping fast and it fit properly. No need to waste time trying to save a small amount. My take, anyway.

Jon, let me add using the genny as you say is best . The adage use it or loose it is true . When we purchased our 98 XL she had 62k on the odometer and 630 hrs on the Genny . In hind sight I wish I would have pulled the generator and replace every item related to safety .
water pump , this was source of the generator blowing up . Anti freeze junked up clogging a port . small leak burned off fluid loss . I did add a pint every month or so and should have picked up on this as a sign something was wrong .
high temp sensor disconnected thus failure to shut down on over heat . So as you say use it 🙂 Thanks again for all you do for the community .

When we were last north with bus, we ran into some smaller campground’s 50 amp was single leg 110. Several places we had to run genset to cook on gaggenau

Does your coach have the headhunter tank monitor system? if so you may need to replace the o ring in the system. also not unheard of for a newer pump to be bad. i belief the o rings are a #78 that can be sourced from lowes or home depot and then maybe do a calibration. we have also had good luck replacing headhunter systems on coaches with plastic tanks with a see lvl tank monitors but you would lose the functionality of seeing the tank lvls at the marathon screen

We have been all over Western Canada, Very nice, reasonably priced.

Some conversions will not have the natural ability to keep LI’s warm enough during very cold temps such as both my H Marathons with house batteries in an open area above the drive tires. If you’re going to be camping in a fixed spot where it’s very cold, you definitely have a problem without heat when the BMS shuts down the charging. So no doubt some conversions will have to have a heat source.

Gotcha. We run genset all night long. 10 gallons a night fuel consumption is whole lot cheaper than lithium battery change out. We watched Mr Mark’s Liberty go full “tizzy” at Jeff’s place, and resulting fussiness to restart the lithiums

just curious how common is it to come across a 22-25 year old bus where an entire side (belt-line and up) has been re-cleared. I realize the curved upper panels where the side wall meets the roof are usual candidates for re-clear or even re-spray, just haven’t heard of an entire side being done.

The documentation mentions parallel installations, but not series. I only found one post in the Victron Forums for someone looking to add a 24v and a 48v output in series.

Math is distributive, so you can make your own formulas using each term as long as you don’t violate the distributive law.
ie. Amps = Watts / Volts. A good example of this is a microwave. Lets say a microwave is rated at 1200 watts and runs on 120 volts. How many Amps does it draw under load? That would be 1200 watts / 120 volts. Roughly 10 amps! If you’re on 20 amp service, that’s half your potential full capacity right there….just in running 1 microwave. As Jon mentions above, you should only count on 80% of the 20 amp service, so thats only 16 amps you have to play with and you just used 10 amps of the 16 amp total on running the microwave. Don’t forget a refrigerator that is probably running, lights, automation systems, dash radio, TPMS that may be wired to stay on all the time, backup camera, house battery charging, chassis battery charging, etc……they all add up.
Jon…..you might know (I have never tried it). Can a modern Prevost coach run on 20 amp incoming shore service for storage? I know its a function of what’s running, but assume no A/C’s, but keeping a refrigerator running, keep the house charging at a maintenance rate, no chassis battery charging, no water heater and yes to all the other system of the coach (Crestron, etc. Just the mission critical stuff. I carry a 50 amp RV to 20 amp converter, but in thinking about it, probably not worth the effort or weight. Then again, there is always the generator

Free advice: If Li batteries are installed it not only is a requirement to keep the batteries warm, or have the ability to seriously limit charging current, but it should be automatic. By making it automatic the potential to forget and destroy a set of very expensive batteries is possible and maybe even likely.
Li batteries are an incredible improvement over all other types but their drawback is use in cold temperature environments requires significant changes in how they are charged or keeping them warm (above 30 degrees F).

Art, did you get your new led headlights to work?? I changed over however can’t get low beams. I followed your instructions
