Bill,
This has been a major point of aggravation between me and my insurance carrier. I paid $6410 last year for insurance and it went up $1000 for this coming year (much like you). I put my bulldog wife on the task of finding us something more reasonable. (She like these challenges and is very capable with a financial background). She also bid out our entire insurance needs to see if we could save some money on auto, home umbrella, toys and a second property.
Within 24 hours, she had a quote back from State Farm for just under $1800 per year for the coach. My coach is about your age and is a 2007 Marathon H3-45 conversion with an agreed value of $599,000. Liability limits are 250/500/100. Comp deductible is $2000. Collision deductible is $2000. Premium $1796.56.
We can debate coach value, liability limits, deductibles, but this is our chosen path for coverage. I have suspected since contracting with my last insurer, that they had the insured value of the coach incorrect, but could never get them to budge.
This is my path and only the best options for me. You will have to make your own decisions on all parameters.

If you do go with LI, you have a much easier go of it since your 12v. Your present battery capacity is 765 amp hrs, 383 amp hr usable at 50% discharge. 2 Relion 200 amp 8D’s would almost meet your present usable amp hrs at 90% DOD or 360 amp hrs. Better choice would be 2 Relion 300 amp hr. Keep in mind you have to protect them from cold charging temps or go with the Relion 300LT (low temperature). In the 8D size, Relion makes 100, 200 and 300 amp batteries.
Jon was meticulous on his research and had a complete understanding of what was involved with his 24v Liberty conversion to LI. So do your homework and if I can help you with LI or AGM, let me know.

If you can get the bus there they can have an engine built and waiting for you when you arrive. Installation in a couple of days. In generally costs less than an in frame rebuild would have cost. I believe they can also build an engine and ship it anywhere. Great business that specializes in Detroit’s.

Remember, a potty closet coach floorplan robs storage space. Normally, an open bath/pass-thru bath have a bank of full wall closets which can include stacker washer/dryer if storage is important. Good Luck

Tom, I check at the monitor because that is the input the monitor sees and if there is a defect in the terminals or wiring that will prove the monitor is seeing a voltage error.
Then if the equalizer is showing the same voltages I know it is the monitor.

An extensive test was done on the Jeep GC today at the dealer by the technician who is the only one in the entire dealership that understands the kit to keep the PS active and who has talked to the actual engineer who designed the kit, and who then fixed the design fault.
The dealer technician and I have known one another for at least 10 years and unlike the Jeep dealers or Jeep customer service whose only response to questions is “read the owner’s manual” he actually knows the system. He is a graduate engineer who would rather spin wrenches than work at a desk so he is very capable. When I presented him with my two questions today he didn’t blow me off, but got his computer with the Jeep software that enables him to see the systems, how they are operating, determine if there are any software changes or faults or codes. The initial determination is the Jeep and its systems are code free and up to date.
So following the towing set up procedure to the letter we put the transfer case in neutral and then activated the electric power steering kit. His computer was unable to show if the EPS was active. As he explained originally the kit does not activate the power steering at the steering wheel, but responds as required to inputs from towing to keep pressure on the system to prevent extreme shimmy. He has no way to tell if the kit is working, so there is no pre-trip procedure I can use to verify it is working. He agreed with me that is a problem.
Then I explained how after towing I have no power steering, we backed out of the towing set up following the procedure exactly as shown, he found the Jeep power steering was disabled. He went through various steps to see if he could activate it, and was unable. From experience I know it takes at least 20 minutes after towing to function. To rule out the EPS kit, we went through the procedure to put the Jeep in towing mode but did not activate the EPS. Again we backed out of towing mode, and again no power steering. We concluded the EPS kit has nothing to do with this problem. He had to restore the power steering to working condition via his Jeep computer software since there is no provision in the Jeep settings to do so, and the owner’s manuals are completely silent on this problem.
The salesman who was monitoring our efforts stated I am the only GC owner who has the kit and who has a problem towing. I pointed him toward several on-line sites in which hundreds of owners report the “death wobble” as well as the issue with the power steering remaining asleep after towing. He didn’t want to hear that and I suspect he would rather assume I am the only one with problems so he can sell Jeeps for towing. Unfortunately for him the technician stated the shimmy is serious having experienced it himself. It is a serious problem on a Cherokee, but the fact Jeep has a kit for Durangos and Grand Cherokees is an indication the problem is more widespread than the salesman is willing to admit.
The technician has contact at Jeep Chrysler with the individual responsible for solving technical problems so the company doesn’t have to buy back a lot of unrepairable products under the lemon law. He thinks that individual is likely to be able to address how to verify the kit functions and how to have power steering immediately after towing.
The dealer and I have done everything right. The kit was installed as recommended. the procedures for setting up for towing have been followed precisely to the steps listed in the owner’s manual and the instructions that came with the kit. We all know the manual and instructions are the only places we can rely on, despite some RV sites that list alternate methods to make things work, that are not right and have the potential to do some long term damage. Chrysler knows the power steering can be made to function in towing mode as it does under normal conditions, but it only wants it operating from towing inputs and not steering inputs.
Now as a result of today’s exercises everyone is confused and the technician is not only going to take this issue upstream in the Jeep Chrysler organization, he is going to repeat the tests we did on other 2021 Grand Cherokees to see if the power steering failure is the same on those vehicles, and not exclusive to mine.

PIA every time you have to chase a fuse. I’m in the process of converting my “fuse wall” in the second bay to the newer fuses that light up when blown.

JON. we towed ours for over two years never a problem. 2015 summit gc. great tow toad. only switched to a ram from a friend that quit motor home life.

Not to steal this thread but I also have a high voltage light on. I had a bad isolator on the house battery side, now replaced and working. I realize the em 70d monitor makes ground for light circuit. Unplugging input and output light stays on .Discharge house batteries down to a point that low light came on ,now 2 lights on .Recharge all bats low light off high on,disconnect all 12 and 24 ,reset everything high on.This will happen on shore power, generator, engine.Next step replace monitor but want to get opinions first. Battery voltage are all in proper range with Fluke meter 12 and 24 .

Tom, I do not know of any but will keep an eye out .
Ernie, what engine do yu have on your genny ? It can be rebuilt as you know and be like new for a little under 10k . A used one if you can find one would be around 7k after changing out some parts . I guess the used one would be a crap shoot like mine was . Call if you want to bounce some ideas around .
Jon, Crazy how we feel if I do not use the genny it will last longer . When I purchased this coach I thought with all the dry camping we do getting a low hour genny was a plus . I still think it would have been if I would have changed out some parts prior to using her . I also think having the OTR and going pole to pole make it hard to justify using the genny . Jeff also told me of truck applications going 90k hours of course they are not in a enclosed box .

Laugh as you may, but this issue isn’t ending soon. Fuel moves slowly thru a pipeline like this. About 5 miles an hour. It will take a couple of weeks to flow normal. This is a consequential shock showing how vulnerable our neglected infrastructure is.
