Has any one tried this tire on their coach? I am thinking of trying it for drive axle and tag. It has an extra steel belt per data sheet and is heavier, and thicker tread. Presume it would ride harsher. The data sheet says suitable for RV “NO” although the application icons show RV. I wore out my drive tires before the steers and tags from heavy retarder use, they do most of the work of slowing the coach and toad as well as driving it. Tags also take a beating from tight turns. Stiffer tire might hold up better.

I found it, Steer tires Michelin XZA 2 Energy 315/80R-22.5 I thought I was adding to much according to chart should be between 90 and 95 I keep 100 in them??

Every 5000 miles I do a serious maintenance event. It includes oil and filter changes, oil and fuel. I lube all the fittings. I drain every air tank, in sequence to verify the check and protection valves are functioning. I check all fluid levels.
I do a full chassis inspection looking for chafed hoses, brake pad thicknesses, loose steering or suspension joints, hub seal leaks, belt condition, hose conditon, etc. Obviously tire pressures are checked and any item of deferred repair or maintenance is taken care of. I cannot imagine how that can cost $5000.
But…….there is a whole lot more. I have given a lot of components and devices what I consider a reasonable life span. As examples my air bags are replaced every 10 years, as are brake chambers, shocks, Norgren valves, etc. Except for Li batteries, all others are replaced every 5 years. Tires 7 years, etc.
There is nothing I do to the coach that is not logged because with all the required maintenance events for the bus, house and generator it is the only way I can schedule maintenance. As of today, except for a routine scheduled maintenance event in 150 miles, nothing is due. But this year I have some serious events coming up this year, including coolant change and transmission and filter change.
Anyone that tries to make you believe that because they had Prevost do the routine maintenance is either clueless or a liar. Without detailed schedules tailored to the specific converter nobody can track what is needed and insure it gets done.
But, having said that, shit happens. I recently had to have my injectors replaced. I have had unplanned fan clutch replacements required. I had to replace my charge air cooler. Although maintaining a coach is a detailed job not maintaining it is going to be a hit or miss experience and for potential buyers it is my suggestion to treat any service events needed as not being done unless there are receipts or documents or logs proving they were done.

Art, you might be doing yourself a disservice, 14+ volts even at 30 amps is too high at Float if your batteries are at or near 100% when you leave the house. Does your Battery charger monitor the SOC and reduce the amperage as needed? If not i would get another one. Lithium does not like lots of current at 100% state of charge.

The front ride height can vary from side to side with significant weight difference since the front only has one height valve.

Bill ! When I was removing those heavy awkward AGM batteries I know it was time for a change, I was dragging my feet on the Lithium change over because of safety price and the whole thing. Lithium Iron batteries are getting better and more affordable and less hassle’s, Lithium Iron are safer, Price they were $4490 x4= $1796 free shipping a day and a half for delivery, They have hi and low voltage protection, hi and low temp protection blue tooth,(BMS) battery management system built in, you can get heaters in them, We don’t get cold enough to have a problem here,If they go dead, does not hurt them, 4000 charge cycles, I know I had to change Magnum settings and I’m going to add a DC to Dc $159 dollar charger for driving down the road, Don has proved to do nothing on his Alternator charging is working just fine, And Johthan Fine set his voltage Regulator higher and that’s working to. Biggest thing Is Dry camping! Wow those batteries can hold a charge and at 50% they are still over 13volts, My AGM batteries at 50% were Low. I’ve been running the crap out of the new batteries throwing everything but the kitchen at them and they keep going, I drove it 25 miles the other day for a diesel run and Victron went from 45% to 57% they charge much quicker, So yes right now it is a learning curve but in the long run it will be worth it.

My 24v 50DN chassis only alternator has nothing to do with my 12v house system.My 12v Lifepo4 house batteries are charged with either my Magnum inverter/chargers or the 12v house only alternator with its built-in regulator.

Thank you for the suggestion. We have been working for months with another very highly respected company in this area. They do offer marketing support as well.

I do agree with that Jon, But if I have to push the charger button off on inverters when parked at home under barn, I can do that If it extends life of batteries I can do that. If these batteries can keep doing this I can go extra mile, after test last night. At 11:15PM last night before bed went out to bus, Refrigerator has been running 13 hours and have ran Aqua Hot 3 times and all heaters for 2 hours each time,every light in bus on,Have not charged at all since installed on Sunday here is 2 pics from Victron BMV 1st pic yesterday morning, 2nd 11:15 last night after turning refer and Aqua Hot off volts came up.

So everything I read is to not leave batteries full when not in use, At home under the pole barn don’t leave chargers on They recommend 50 percent while sitting, We have a trip planned in Febuary so I will keep the Magnums charger buttons off, I’m having a hard time getting my head wrapped around this. I read this in a couple spots! (Keeping Lithium ion batteries on charge continuously will damage the batteries and some chargers will attempt to shut down to charge,but just at 100 percent will cause internal damage to the batteries) (If your RV Lithium LiFePO4 batteries are not holding their charge while stored, it’s likely due to a combination of factors including not storing them at the optimal charge level (around 50-80%), potential parasitic loads drawing power even when not in use, extreme temperatures during storage, or a failing battery management system (BMS); even though LiFePO4 batteries have a low self-discharge rate, they will still gradually lose charge over time if not properly maintained). It sounds a little complicated

the 50DNs are controlled by an external regulator, they look like the link below. Usually there’s a screw that adjusts the voltage but if its failed it could be a bigger issue. Mine had a 12v regulator on a 24v 50dn, they make multiple types.

I’m surprised they removed the belt instead of just removing the field or power wire on the rear of the alternator.

Having owned 3 Prevost coaches over the past 25 years, 2 with 8V92 and 1 with S-60, my number 1 deal killer would be a 8V92, Number 2 deal killer would be Cruise Airs. Give me a S-60 with IFS and roof top A/C and I am a happy camper. If you want the straight skinny, ask JON or FULLTIMEBILL. They also have owned both.
