Chad: I’ve used the small Garmin GPS’s a few times, but not the (expensive) Garmin RV GPS’s. The small ones are “OK”, but just “OK” in my opinion. They just didn’t seem to measure up to what I see on the Garmin aviation products at OSH (I’m an inactive instrument rated pilot). A few years ago I stopped in the Garmin booth at OSH and talked to a salesman about RV products. He understood my thoughts that their non-aviation products could be improved. I don’t know if he escalated those concerns. Maybe someday.

Only parkway you would want to travel in NY or NJ would be the Garden State Parkway. We have done so many times with no issues. Commercial trucks are prohibited on the northern part of the parkway but RVs are not.
The rest to my knowledge have a lot of low clearance overpasses.
Good luck with your trip

I bought a Raritan# 172011, 20 gal w/heat exchanger, 15 mths ago on ebay for $1177 to my door. I thought mine had a hole in it. It didn’t. Now I have a spare for when it really does fail.
