Yes, my razr pooped out with an error – I will say though that I called them up and explained it and since I was within the warranty the just sent me another one. At least there’s that.

It still works it’s just the motor that turns it doesn’t. The motor is supposed to figure out the best position for The antenna when you park.

    Now…. I just have to install the replacement I got…. say… 7 months ago!

As you know I had it done on my 01 Liberty and don’t think there is anyone out there that can duplicate the repair or is an official authorized repair facility for the rivet process.

Jon, I have no idea why Tom treats you so shabbily! When my dues is due I will send my envelope directly to you and that’s a promise!

As for the beanie… Sorry Jon you’re on your own there.

Thank you for the information, Jon. That helps me. Does anyone have an idea what I might need to check or suspect?

Don’t feel bad, I have 2 calls and 2 e-mails getting ignored. They may not be officially open yet. One thing for sure, don’t call the 800 number for Sun, that’s a real cluster.

    Geo – I’ll check on the power…

You guys need to stop dating yourselves, ADF and NDB approaches have been gone for quite a while. And Jon I did listen to AM stations back in the day, but will say I’m not quite as tough as Tom. Flying from coast to coast at 500’ in the snow and ice without heat, I am more of a fair weather flyer compare to that.

We’re planning to buy a 2019 Ram as our new tow car. The new trucks have some features not available on other pick-ups.

It has turned into a very important discussion and as Tom pointed out we all need a plan for dealing with a broken door handle.

This is not a remote or unheard of topic. There have been a number of posts about door latch failures so we all should take the time to develop a plan for how we will deal with such an event. In some cases our solution may be that the inside door panel can be removed so the mechanism can be operated to release the door.

Some conversions may be assembled in such a way that we may have to damage the inner door liner to get access to the latch mechanism. In some cases as a ready made solution we may want to rig up something we can access without tools to release the door latch, such as a wire that is barely visible, but which can be pulled to release the door. I am not sure there is a single best answer, but at the very least we all need to look carefully at our door and possibly remove the inner door panel so we understand what we may have to do in an emergency.

If we do take the time to develop a solution to being locked in (or out) it is almost a sure thing we will never need to use it. I know that for sure because I have anticipated problems such as the need for an inverter by-pass in the event of a failure, to a back up water pump and other solutions, all of which were for problems that never materialized.

    I stated “Then you hang-up”.

What I should have said is, that you do not need to answer because you already know it is a spam call and since these callers never ever leave a voicemail message, you know you were right to ignore that call.
