And now for the rest of the story.
I called the Prevost Car facility and talked to Dave in Service about the letter, the new clutch being in that group and what I had found by attempting to spin the fan. We talked a couple of times about a solution and I told him that if he was agreeable that I would stop by Wintergarden on the way to Naples and let them take a look. He said to give him a little while to do some checking. He called me back a short time later and said to just sit tight here at home and that Jason Greenway, the Prevost Mobile Service Tech out of Atlanta (100 miles South), would be here at 10:30am this (Monday) morning. At 10:30 sharp This morning Jason rolled in. After just a minute of looking he determined the clutch did have a problem and proceeded to change it. He finished up and was gone by about 2:00pm. He partially disassembled the old clutch and determined that an internal part had been installed backwards during assembly by the manufacturer.
And now for the bottom line. Would anyone like to hazard a guess as to what the cost was for this kind of first class service? The answer is not one red cent.
In the times we live in today, I think that this kind of customer service and attention to a problem that was not the fault of Prevost Car, but that of a vendor, is absolutely phenomenal! I just wish that they made sports cars and pick-up trucks. I can’t help but wonder if there are other manufacturers of motor coaches out there of this caliber. I have my doubts.
My sincere thanks to Dave, Mike and Jason.

Garmin has a new unit out that is tablet based with a dash mounted docking station. I have one now and will be using it in the next few days. So far it appears to be a great unit.
I think it is VIEO RV 1051

That is what I am looking for

Inject propane and bring the system up to max pressure.
Then all you need is a Bic lighter to pinpoint the leak.
OK, FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MIGHT THINK I AM SERIOUS I AM NOT. IF YOU TRY IT AND YOU BLOW YOURSELF UP, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Went to buy a new return hose from power steering reservoir to the power steering pump and it was a gates 16RLA hose, I looked on line and called a few places most everyone you had to buy a 25 ft roll Napa had ft prices but still had to buy 25 feet. Napa told me to call PasoRobles bearing and Hydraulics and they didn’t use gates they had a black hose with red stripe with wire in it for hydraulics. And he said to use tee clamps it had double clamps on it. I went home installed it and filled it up and it was already leaking from the reservoir on top, so I drained it again and took pictures of fittings and both 1 inch OD, went back to shop and showed him pictures and he said top fitting was not for this kind of hose it had very small ridges, lower fitting at pump looked correct. I replaced upped fitting at reservoir with a barbed 1 inch fitting put it back together filled it up looks good no leaks. I think all along it wasn’t the hose it was the upper fitting. here is a picture of old fitting.

MemberOctober 18, 2020 at 6:04 pm in reply to: Anyone change dash air compressors to rotary oneI inquired about converting my old Ford style Tecumseh compressor over to one and was told, if I remember right, it used a different freon and would also require the hoses to be changed out. So basically not financially doable.
That was on my 99 CC

Greg/Deb, As new owners I hope as part of the inspection process your coach was tested for delamination. Tom and I an others have used a lot of bandwidth stating clearly if you are buying an XLII it must get an inspection at a Prevost facility. The reason I say that is your seller may have had that done and should be able to provide the paperwork.
However, if it is not done, and if you suspect issues you can contact any of the service centers and ask for a complete test of the coach for delamination. It is my understanding a large percentage of the former Jacksonville work force is in Winter Garden at the new facility there so I would bet the expertise developed in Jacksonville is still available. Jacksonville was the lead Prevost service center for skin repairs.
But if other locations are more convenient to you contact any facility and I think if you press 2 you can ask for the service manager who can set you up for a test.
Good luck. Including paint these skin repairs can approach $50,000.

We are looking to change out our mattresses. Biggest issue, any recommendations on extricating an inner spring mattress out of a “riveted XL”
We dont know our current mattress age, but with “squatty” XL side windows and front windshield (too small”, we wonder if our current mattress was installed before one of the two “slide outs” were installed

I don’t remember the heights since it has been about 10 years since I had them built. Just raise your coach all the way up, and measure under the support points.
Depending on what I want to accomplish I use fixed height stands or Harbor Freight air over hydraulic bottle jacks, 12 or 20 ton, with the cylinder collapsed down and the center screw post threaded up as needed.
Each has its benefits.

Thank you for your thoughts, good information. I’m going to leave then off and spray them.

Hello,
An update to my air pressure loss..it turns out that is was the tag axle spring brake supply line. It was loose at the “T” that sends air to the right and left of the tag. Big shout out to my friend Billy of Piedmont Ok for bringing his jack stands for safety and getting under the bus and finding the leak. I did a lot as I handed him the crescent wrench he needed to tighten the hose. All is well now.

I am going to have to test my sensors after Tom posted them pictures. I have a few very slow leaks which I wrote off to old valve stems left in the rims when new tires were placed. I did find and fix one that was a bad extension.

Looks like you’ll have to access the house battery ground from behind the batteries. Is the backside open for ventilation?
