I inquired about converting my old Ford style Tecumseh compressor over to one and was told, if I remember right, it used a different freon and would also require the hoses to be changed out. So basically not financially doable.
That was on my 99 CC

Changed mine in 2017 with sander sd7#5296 and bracket 52061 and back plate 5593 works great no vibration and holding up well. With bracket and backing plate bolts right in.

I would like to talk to you about the change out
Previous post says hose replacement required.
Interested in the part numbers you quoted

That’s really great. Wish I would have been told the right info.
Those old compressors didn’t last very long and vibrated like crazy.

A refrigeration system is more than a compressor, some coils and freon.
It is the subtle little things that all factor in. I have zero knowledge of how or if a rotary compressor would work as a swap for a conventional piston type, but I would certainy check to see if the controls, expansion valve, pressure switches, etc. are compatible.
