Unless the coach has a lot of miles on it they might just need to be freed up if that is the problem. Two of my coaches had about 250,000 miles on them and the brushes were original when I sold the coaches.

Prevost has never worked on Detroit engines or Allison transmissions. They might do some minor maintenance but the minute the work involves opening it up, or even dealing with some codes they drive or tow the coach to the Detroit dealer.
This is completely consistent with the need to have our coach serviced by the experts. If I had a Volvo engine equipped coach I would still try to take it to a Volvo dealer.
I feel bad for Chris, not only because of his engine problems, but because the problem is going to take some detective work. Whatever is the cause it might be difficult to find. Then to add to the issue I am almost convinced the Detroit dealer keeps the coach near the bottom of the “to-do” list. I have learned to get anyone to work dilligently on a repair I have to stand there and watch. Otherwise a lot of other jobs slide ahead.

Karl, Oregon is like Indiana. Needing a DOT # is a PITA. Another Prevo owner told me that he just makes up a DOT# in Indiana. We never tried it, we just make sure we don’t need fuel in those states. Geo.

Another example of your dues at work.
I hope everyone recognizes with all the available features on the PC website we may have to offer training for members who want to learn how to use the site.
I for one need instruction because no matter how hard i try I cannot bring the site up on my flip phone.

When I bought my coach the OTR worked good but on a trip back from ETLC the light came on and no air. It was a cool day so I just opened the side glass and slid on home. Once home checked it out and the pressure switch had the compressor shut down. I looked at the accumulator sight glasses and there was nothing. Almost 30 pounds of 134a later we are up and running. Losing that much gas in such a short time denotes a nice fat leak. I also injected leak dye when I charged it up. Took a trip to gulf shores and then on to central Florida. Left Florida to Knoxville and had that new stainless poo tank installed at ETLC. Drove it back home and did a leak scan. As mentioned above there is a leak at the crank seal under the clutch but it is very minor only a little trace. Checked the condenser and evaporator and any and all piping that was exposed enough to get the light on, still nothing. I was still wondering how that much gas was lost in such a short time. I took another look with the light around the back side of the compressor and EUREKA!!!!! there it was. Dye all over the back side. There is a 1/2 NPT plug used to drain the oil. I put a wrench on the plug and turned it about 6 half turns to tighten it up. I guess finding and fixing a leak don’t get any easier than that!
Did I say that I love that OTR air?Steve

Dick,
There is a “pop-in bulb”…my experience was that it also “pops-out easily”… and isn’t 1/3rd as bright as the system we are discussing. The subject system I installed is hard wired… huge difference. We have 48 LEDs in each light. Sounds like overkill and it definitely is… but certainly works well….
The side lights you referenced can be replaced… the whole housing. etc., is expensive, from my view but looks absolutely super…. I was trying to replace them but determined at the time the costs for complete replacement was not beneficial so I changed out the amber and red glass covers with new ones … they look fine… I am certain over the last 12 months a bulb has been developed for the side clearance lights that is better… good luck on the search…

Great post Davey and so so true. The pictures add greatly to my understanding. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Jeff in person yet but look forward to it at next months seminar. Jon your suggestions are great as always and I now have all that contact information easily accessible for myself and Becky. -
Tom:
Marking
your location just in the general vicinity is a good idea. The general area is
all that is important I would think. Even thought I will be settling in the Lakeland area, I can mark almost any place in the center part of the I-4
corridor in central Florida for the purpose of being an area contact. I do the same thing with my GPS(s). I mark HOME
about 3 blocks from my actual house. That way if someone steals my GPS from my
vehicle at, say the start of a ball game, race, church or other venue that would assure the crook knowing I will be away from home an hour or more, they do not
get near my actual house using the GPS. Even though I am getting more forgetful every day, I
still can remember how to get to my house from three blocks away. For most of
us, the Map should work quite well since only members can access
it.Fred

Well, I was looking for our Liberty filters…. we don’t have Cruise Air or OTR air….
But, there is this platinum button trimmed in 24 carat gold that says ‘filter replacement’ with a ‘L’ logo on it….. I pushed it and I soon heard a propeller noise…. I looked outside and there were four Liberty drones landing on top of my air units making R2 D2 computer noises (kinda like a car assembly plant) and my units were clean. Ha!

Thanks
Hector, good post.The
sensor seal kit can remedy leaks and physical connection problems
caused by the design of the “depressor button” inside the
previous
generations of sensors.
This previous seal design and rubber compound could deform and wear
over time creating these problems. The sensor seal kit has been
available for several years and can help resolve leaking issues as
well as poor connection between the sensor button and the dill pin.The
newest generation of sensors, available since 2013,
do have this upgraded seal design and the current sensors have
experienced no issues with previous problems such as leaking caused
by the deformation of the seal. The latest generation of sensors are
available at a reduced replacement price. If
anyone has purchased the system since 2013, you’ll have the new
seals.
