    Jack,

Let us know how that works out, I need to do mine and sounds like a better way to go than the foam.

I think that a description should be mandatory because it would tell us why we should visit and what is good or bad about the destination. Just listing a name and address is kind of meaningless.

Furthermore, I also believe that a signature should be mandatory. If you are posting information, anybody should be willing to put his or her name behind it.

This would allow PC members to make contact on or offline to ask further questions.

Anybody who is unwilling to add his or her name, should not post in the first place. That is just my 5 cents worth.

All of the above comes from a guy who has yet to add anything. But just wait, I have a few places to add that we found during our travels which would be beneficial to other PC members.

    Cheers,

    Ronald

We drove the northern part about 3 years ago. It was pretty, but we found it a little boring. It seemed like we were on an endless entrance to a National Park. There were some pull offs with scenic overlooks, some with trails, and historical markers. The road was in great shape and very smooth. We had no prblems with trees, but some of the pull offs were a bit tight.

Enjoy if it is your kind of thing!

I have not met the owner’s of Millennium, I’m sure they are wonderful people. I read extensively about all three major converters before we decided on which way to go.

They all do things differently. One of the major things that jumped out to me was where the radiator for the generator was located.

    Millennium- on the roof

    Marathon- in the front grill

Liberty- in a separate bay next to the generator with a grill in the bottom of that compartment.

The radiator on the roof seemed least safe to me. First, you have to get up there to clean and inspect it (or pay a service center). I have never seen one on the roof personally but wonder how it’s protected.

    Just my ‘lay-person’s’ observation.

You should set incoming power to 47 amps not 50 that way when chargers or A/Cs come on you have some leeway… I actually set mine at 45 amp & never trip a breaker.

We stayed in that RV park in about 1968. Our family had a popup tent camper and my Dad pulled it with his Oldsmobile 98 Luxury Sedan (126″ wheelbase). We went “out West” for two weeks. Left Shawano, Wisc on Sat morning and I believe we took Route 66 parts of the way out as we headed for the Motel 6 in Long Beach. We’d gone to our first Indy 500 a few weeks before which was won by Albuquerque’s Bobby Unser. In Albequerque all the stores had huge Congratulations Bobby Unser signs, the movie theatre marque’s congratulated him too. As we got to the edge of town, there on the south side of the road was the Unser family property! As I understand it, Bobby might still live there.

After Albuquerque we went to the Grand Canyon, then Vegas. I remember being in that RV park in the popup. I think my parents or my Mother and sister had a room at the hotel … air conditioning and running water. Circus Circus was really cool for teenagers because of the entertainment above the gambling floor. We could watch the table and slot action.

The return trip started with a blood run from LA to SFO. We had relatives in Placerville between SFO and South Lake Tahoe. Somewhere on that leg we rolling about 75mph in the 98 on the expressway or interstate and there was a chunk of steel junk (I think half of an air brake housing) in the middle of our lane. With a truck beside us Dad didn’t have anywhere to go. The 98 was pretty well loaded and riding low with five in the car, trunk full of stuff, and tongue wait from the popup so. The oil pan struck the piece of steel slicing it open. I was half dosing between my Dad and younger brother. I heard the noise, heard Dad say something, saw lights on the dash light up. I turned around and there was just a HUGE cloud of white smoke … just like when the engines blow at Daytona!

A highway patrol officer on a motorcycle stopped about five minutes later. We got the 98 towed to an Olds dealer and popup to a motel. A new oil pan was shipped out of SFO that afternoon, arrived in the morning, and we were back on the road before noon.

The RV park at the Circus Circus was an old one. Big deal in its day.

Jon – Heated debates? Possibly. Passionate? Absolutely. Downright disrectful? Definitely not from what I have seen so far. However, those that don’t like OTR or slides are just plain wrong. (LOL!)

Tom – No problem, I’ll put the money toward next years dues.

Yep….that Calif. guy is pretty sharp. When you change your coach or add / subtract the sign message all your postings are updated. Coach weight ticket was for 2005 XLII.

I’ll weigh this 2000 “H” when I return to KC. David, where is your gen mounted ? Ours in 1st bay D-side.

I’am just west of Boise tonight driving direct to OKC.

Example: last few days a fellow prevost owner broke a power steering hose–prevost quote 3 DAYS plus hose + tow to their shop. 4 to 5 thousand dollars!! After some understanding help–he accomplished the task for $239 dollars the cost of the hose plus some fluid.. By the way less than a day most of time was cleaning out his bays to get to the hose routing, Break was above fuel tank. I Agree if you have the means and your skills are as a totaly unrelated field. Go to Prevost!! If not just remember another human did the work in the first place..I don’t do computer repairs or heart surgery.. So if you can afford it go for it. no question the best!! My pay grade any major repair I could not do would bankrupt my bus ownership.. If you need help ask/ speaking to the ones that are in a simular situation as my self..Some one may have been there and done that. Bob

    Hey Al,

I’m not a CB user per se but it sure comes in handy when you are dead stopped on the interstate and wonder what in the world is going on. Sometimes it’s best to get off the interstate and take a side road.

There is not a lot of chatter on the CB’s now-a-days but I hear of the occasional ‘smokey’ located in the median taking pictures. It’s a waste on us since I don’t speed but I do like to know where they are.

It’s also nice to know which lane to be in when entering a construction zone. While driving such a large vehicle, we can make early plans and that’s where the CB comes in handy.

    Safe travels,
