Side Window Fogged AGAIN
When I raised the driver’s side shade and saw this Saturday morning I was not a happy camper. The condensation went away in an hour or so of driving by I know from experience that it will get worse and before long I will not be able to see the mirror.
I had this replaced at Prevost Nashville in the last 2-3 years. I will have to look in my log to see when it was exactly. I know I can not expect it to last forever but a quality built window and a quality install should last several years. Right.? Best I could tell the first one last 16-17 years.

I checked the date of replacement. It was February 2012.

Davy there is as place in or near Portland that will make one that will never fog up email me I will give u number !!!

Two suggestions……..contact Prevost and see if they will stand behind it. I know it is beyond their normal warranty period, but 2 1/2 years life on a thermopane window is unacceptable.
Every coach I have owned has had issues with the front side thermopane windows. Clearly Prevost has a problem, and the problem has literally continued for decades. How many others have had this problem, and if possible to tell, how long did the replacement window last before fogging?
But the second suggestion is to consider an alternative. The window is not permanently damaged so it can be taken apart, cleaned, dried and resealed by a local glass shop siginficantly less expensive than a Prevost replacement. As an alternative consider the use of a single thickness safety glass (DOT approved). It may get condensation on it but at least you can wipe it dry. Others have done that and it is a permanent fix.

Thanks for the pointers. My intention is to email Prevost first thing Monday morning and then go from there. As I mentioned HERE I did not know I was going to be so close to a Prevost facility in a week. If there is no goodwill at Prevost I will explore the other options. I am glad to know there are other options.

Single pane side windows are a permanent fix because the thermopane have a life similar to that of a gnat.
However, we recently were driving on one of those chilly mornings and while my side glass is thermopane, the toll window is not and that small window was fogged over with condensation. I did not have to see through it, but if I did I would have had to wipe it often. If the heat /AC vents can be directed at the window section you need to look through to see the mirror you will be OK.

Okay, here is an update. I reached out to Mike Migual at Prevost Nashville by email. I could not easily find a public email for the service writer or service manager at Prevost Mira Loma so I sent a copy to prevostcar@volvo.com.
I receieved a reply from that second email in 8 minutes letting me know they were forwarding it to the proper person at Mira Loma. One hour later I received an email from David Van Nispen the service manager at Prevost Mira Loma asking for details, VIN and promising to see what kind of assistance they could offer.
By the end of the day they had offered some relief. We have not arrived at the final solution yet but I do have and appointment there next Thursday morning to replace the window in quesiton. I will let you know the complete details when I know them. I will say this. David Van Nispen has been very cooperative and helpful.
I have not heard back from Mike Migual but to be fair he is usually very prompt to return my emails. Mr. Van Nispen’s first email to me was cc to Mike Fitch at Prevost Nashville so it is probable Mike Migual was brought into the loop then.
I do appreciate all the leads for repair outside of Prevost. That is very good information I will file away for the future. I think I should try this first.

Like our mirror issue, the fogging of Prevost side glass has been another on-going issue. It is not specific to any model apparently because I have had issues on my XL and I know of issues on the XLII. I suspect H3 coaches are also involved.
Prevost needs to have this problem brought to their attention so if you have had an issue please post it here, and provide the model coach, year, and any other information that will help in determining the scope of the problem.

From what I’ve seen on most any make of coach that had dual pane windows is that any window that has a near by air conditioning vent is susceptible to losing its seal and fogging.
On my coach I have air conditioning vents right next to the driver’s window and entrance door. I had those repaired earlier this year.
Cold air on one side and hot air/sun on the other seems to be a too harsh of an environment for a double pane window over timel.

We recently had our entry door fixed thermo pane and the sale position on driverside replaced at EastbTenn Coach. We supplied the Prevost part, had it shipped, Jeff Rowe did the rest. Wow, isn’t it nice to see out a clear window

Don’t get used to it. I got about 4 years out of a replacment on my 87. When the 97 started to fog I just stopped replacing them. Less frustrating that way.
I am now seeing a 1″ square area on occasion on my driver’s side on the XLII and I know that will soon spread.
