I guess this is something that needs repeating.

PC members are not only plentiful, but they are in almost every corner of our country and often willing to help others. When a coach is listed for sale, and it is located some distance from the buyer it is not unusual for a buyer to make a post or email another member who lives near the coach to make a preliminary inspection of the coach for sale.

That is rarely a pre-purchase inspection, but it is often a very helpful part of the process of acquiring a coach. I know a number of these look-sees have been done over the years and have proven to be very helpful. I have done these preliminary looks as have others, and they tend to verify the coach exists, if it is in the condition represented by the seller, and if there are any gross misrepresentations.

All potential buyers should take advantage of this opportunity when looking to buy.

Turn OFF inverters

Switch Battery Disconnect OFF – if there is not a disconnect switch remove ground cable between inverters and batteries First, then disconnect the positive.

Verify there is no AC at inverter connections, IN or OUT on the 110 lines before disconnecting.

After install of the new ones, connect Ground cable last. If there is not a disconnect switch and it is direct connect, you may get a small spark/arc when touching the ground cable to the post, This is caused by loading the capacitors in the inverters.

Marine grade plywood is attached to metal frame. Butyl tape between the metal frame and the ply. I coated the ply in epoxy, both sides and in the pre-drilled counter bored holes for the self taping screens. Pre-drill any openings for pipes and coat the inside of the holes all to prevent any water from wicking into the new floor.

You will likely find most of the ply damaged, expect to replace the entire bay floor. Most of mine came up without damage to the foam below. Still in place several years later. Use card board to make forms and builder supply foam to replace any that does come out.

I also replaced the rubber piping connectors, dump valves and put a modern camco sewer connection on the end. Since everything has to come out of the bay now is the time to refresh everything.

Big job but worth it.

If there is a rift it is one sided. Anyone can post anything here (within reason of course) and in 10 years and hundreds of thousands of posts I can count on one hand the posts or threads we censored. Those censored had to do with smut, or personal attacks on a member, or selling stuff like adult toys.

He is only showing the subpanel that supplies the outlet, which remains unseen. Those Levition breakers are a very nice product, and the 50 amp breaker shown is a two-pole breaker. We need to see the outlet itself and how it is wired.

There is a campground on Hwy 61 at the north end of Two Harbors, Burlington Bay 218-834-2021. There is another one just south of Two Harbors between the scenic highway and expressway 61 called Penmarallter Campground 218-834-4603. Lakehead Boat Basin in Duluth 218-722-1757 is another choice if you want to be right on the harbor and see the ships and lift bridge.

There is not much north of Two Harbors that would be a good fit for a Prevost, mainly tent camping etc. as far as I know.

Did he use a GFCI breaker? If your grounds and neutrals are not isolated on the coach (which most older coaches are not) it will trip the GFCI breaker instantly.

If I were to guess that rubber hinge was a service issue to coach operators who exercised it far more frequently than conversion owners would. Given the difficulty in removing and replacing it my guess is that was sufficient justification to having the current type of door opening using parallel arms.

What about a replacement with a stainless steel piano hinge?

I don’t think you need to think twice but you do have to ensure you have the right transmission in your GC and the owners manual specifically details the steps required to tow behind a motorhome. There were a few years (I believe ending around 2019) where they did have a steering issue and Jeep came out with a jumper or something that fixed the Death Wobble problem. If you Google Jeep Grand Cherokee Death Wobble you will likely find all the necessary information. We have a new to us 2020 Cherokee (not Grand) and have towed it without issue for about 7 months.
