Highly recommend contacting Austin Hicks – GM/partner (615) 280-1278 Ext. 200 at Olympia Luxury Motorcoach in Murfreesboro, TN…suburb of Nashville.
Olympia does the most thorough Pre-Purchase Inspection in qualifying a Coach; and, hands down, the most extensive and complete Zeroing out of any Prevost dealership.
Full disclosure: Gil Johnson frequently performs the initial PPI of many remotely located coaches for Austin – to determine whether they measure up to Austin’s exacting standards.
It might be worthwhile to call Austin and see what incoming Inventory of Coaches, model & year and converter brand (e.g., Liberty, Marathon, Millennium, Featherlite, Country Coach, Royal, Parliament, etc.) they are bringing in the near future.

I know of no way to describe anyone performing pre-purchase inspections as “the best”.
Our coaches are so varied in terms of chassis models, converters, and aftermarket system changes that no one person or dealer or converter can know all of the variations.
If a person wants the best possible stick with Prevost for the chassis inspection. Stick with the engine and transmission manufacturer to pull up the history embedded in the control modules, and have the converter do the house inspection.
If the coach is being purchased from a dealer and a warranty is being offered a great deal of the pre-purchase inspection is not much more than an exercise because actual use after the sale will reveal issues covered by the warranty.
We have a member who does inspections and I expect he will post in response to this thread.
There is a concern of mine and that is if a person inspects the coach prior to a purchase by a dealer, and then performs an inspection on the coach on behalf of the dealer’s customer there is a huge conflict of interest and worse, taking money from the dealer’s customer to do an inspection that might reveal oversights from the first inspection is troubling. Does a repeat customer such as the dealer find out about an expensive oversight, or does a one time customer such as the buyer get that find swept under the rug?

I am entering the realm of pre-purchase inspections. I worked for Royale Coach by Monaco for several years and ran a service center specializing in the Prevost conversions.

I would not use Andrew Steele. He is a youtuber that does a lot of video’s with a lot of different retailers, but he has never owned a Prevost and will not be able to give you an honest inspection.
Nothing against Andrew. He is an entertaining youtuber.

There is nobody better qualified to do a pre-purchase inspection than the buyer.
Get Prevost to do an extensive chassis inspection.
Get the engine and transmission manufacturer’s dealer to do a full inspection of the those major components.
Get the coach log books and analyze them with respect to how well services have been documented and performed to schedule. No log books? Consider the work not done or roll the dice.
Then sit down with the seller and operate every single switch know and dial to find out not only what each does, but that it does it as it should. The detailed inspection can take at least 2 days, but it also becomes the training.
Don’t have time? Turn the responsibility over to someone and pray they do a good job.

Can’t speak for others. But, spent an extensive and exhaustive four days going over every aspect of our Coach with Gil. Admittedly, mostly with regards to Liberty conversion aspects…and, how they interfaced with the Prevost, Detroit Diesel 60 and Allison transmission systems. And Yes, I pushed and operated all buttons…identified individual switches, fuses/buss bars and breakers.
We identified a side window (in addition to windshields) that was replaced; water bay – which was completely rebuilt…as well as, both waste centers and all tank sensors replaced.
Additionally, Austin also had an expansive list of “To Do” items (from rebuilding the Independent Front Suspension, A-arms and shocks; to brake chambers; replaced one Cruisair with a new unit and rebuilt the remaining three, etc.)…to which he kept adding throughout all the months Olympia Zeroed out this beautiful Coach.
Coach was taken to Prevost Nashville where a complete delamination inspection (passed w/flying colors!) and DMI/chassis check-up were conducted. Also, alignment of all three axils and balancing of all new tires; TPMS and Centramatic Wheel Balancers were also added.
We had new 12 V Magnum Pure Sine Inverters & the Magnum Watchdog generator Autostart installed and learned their operation to support the air conditioning, new GE Profile French Door refrigerator, GE Profile convection/microwave oven, and (3) Samsung 4K Smart TV’s, (3) Apple TV’s, etc.
This was the third time that Olympia has Zeroed Out and Level III serviced this particular Coach since 2013! (Previous owners opted for newer double slide coaches. Whereas, we Love it being a non-slide and will be using two brand new Lafer Gaga Euro recliners as our breakfast bar stools/media chairs.)
Jon has definitely provided very sound advice and wonderful/thorough Article write-ups (available in this forum) for those considering purchasing a “new to them” Prevost. Which we have taken to heart and have helped us made leaps and bounds on the learning curve going into our purchase decision on this Coach.
We have benefited from the shared knowledge and experiences of many…including: Olympia – our logo for them is: “building us a 2021 Prevost, one piece at a time.” Numerous YouTube videos; and counseling from Gil, Jon and many other Prevost owners along the way!
As a result, we have a fantastic and reliable vehicle – where everything does what it was Engineered, designed and intended to do. Not to say that things won’t break or, continue to age-out and need replaced. But, the steadfast and solid infrastructure of both the Prevost chassis and the converter’s (Liberty, in our case…and, further enhanced/improved upon by Olympia Luxury Motorcoach) craftsmanship are exactly why we all decided on purchasing not just some RV…but, a Prevost!

The above posts by Winterstorm praising the services of Gil is a great example of the fairness here at PC. We don’t censor legit posts and take childish actions based on personal animosities.
Here’s a couple examples within the last few weeks on POG Facebook by your’s truly.
1. A poster asked about why there is no source for campgrounds that will accommodate Prevosts. I put up the PC Map explaining the map has been populated by members of all groups on PC and many are POG members. The post was immediately deleted by Gil.
2. A poster put a link on the POG Facebook during a discussion about slide seals to the Article on PC done almost 10 years ago by Jon. The post and further discussions about the article was deleted by Gil.
So post away guys, you can be assured of fairness here on PC and the PC Facebook.

Yep, Jamie and Gil can’t stand the thought that PC has better info then they do and for free!! I still can not believe people pay for POG. There is nothing there worth reading.
Jamie deleted several of my posts on POG shortly after he bought it saying it violated the rules, I asked what rule, and he could not point to one. I guess if you mention PC, that is against his wallet….

Just for the record, and speaking only for myself, PC has no problems or issues with any group, club, or person associated with Prevost conversions.
The intent when PC was created was to try to pull as many Prevost enthusiasts as possible together in one spot so our collective strength could be used to negotiate benefits for all of us. We did that. Tom and I went further and tried to also provide high quality, accurate information all owners could use to help them own and manage their coaches.
In the early days we became targets, and despite being long time owners willing to help others, and despite being original or long term members of other groups such as POG, we were viewed as out to destroy all other groups. We were not, we think we have proven that, and despite that we have had others censor our posts just like what happened to Mark. We have heard of behind the scene BS about Tom, or I or PC, but the course we chose to take was to just keep on doing what we have done since 2011, as owners and that is to do what we as owners would like, such as discounts, providing access to information, and assisting others.
If some on other sites want to act like brats and stamp their feet and refuse to allow us to share information that is on them. If we have information or see the need to develop and pass information we will. If somebody is afraid the act of sharing information is bad they are entitled to do as they wish, but to the extent possible as Tom points out we will not lower ourselves to censor posts unless the post is inappropriate, such as grossly incorrect, political, sexual, or about items we have no intention of allowing such as gun control or abortion.
When there are differences of opinion we not only allow those discussions, as long as they are civil, and have gone out of our way to invite and provide access to those whose differing views will add to discussions.

Wasn’t aware of any rift between forum groups? It never came up during the PPI.
Personally, just Thankful for helpful advice along the way toward learning this/these incredible coaches.
Must say that Jon’s articles were instrumental in knowing what questions to ask – specific to the Prevost chassis and Liberty conversion. And, what additional Maintenance work that Olympia performed far above Level III services and in Zeroing out our Coach.
This has been (and, hopefully will continue to be) a phenomenal experience. Thank you.

If there is a rift it is one sided. Anyone can post anything here (within reason of course) and in 10 years and hundreds of thousands of posts I can count on one hand the posts or threads we censored. Those censored had to do with smut, or personal attacks on a member, or selling stuff like adult toys.

C’mon, Jon. You have a link for adult toys at the top of every page. It’s called “Coaches for Sale.”
