  • Compressor clutch?

Posted by Art on July 30, 2021 at 10:12 am

Got the new AC compressor in and my Warner electric clutch ohms out a little low but it seems to still work, I checked with Prevost and that same Warner clutch is still used but it’s $810.00 bucks, found it through Warner for $530.00 But TCCI company that my ac compressor is manufactured by they have a truck heavy duty clutch for $120.00 why such a big difference?

Art the truck shop one is probably only 12 volt and Prevost is 24 volt at least that was my case.I found a 24 volt fron napa for 200 bucks and only 1/4 inch difference in diameter, working great.sorry don’t have part number now on road.

Art, A tech coming next week to install compressor. My old compressor was cooling but noisy. Did not want to chance a lock up crossing the desert to California. Going to re-use my old clutch on the new compressor. Not changing the dryer and valves. Will see how that works out. Darrell

Art, The tech came today and installed the new compressor. Added 8 12oz cans of freon from Walmart at $4.88 per can. AC blows ice cold. Darrell
