I’ve said on here years ago when I changed from Monroe OEM to Koni’s I wasn’t good enough to tell the difference.

Back then I changed them at 60 thousand miles on my old bus, didn’t need to.

But if you change a bad shock for a new shock and it’s a Koni it’s gonna feel like a very good upgrade.

The Monroe OEM’s are a good shock. I think Koni’s get alot of praise from guys just going from a worn out shock to a new shock.

Everyone needs to understand that the length of time between when fully charged batteries are without a charging source until they need to be recharged varies significantly from coach to coach and owner to owner.

There will be a great difference between that time span for a 3 8D battery Liberty Classic owner and an 8 8D battery Featherlite owner. But there also could be a big difference between 2 Liberty Classic owners based on what devices remain powered when dry camping begins or how low the voltage will get before recharging.

Some autostart voltages are adjustable so a 12 volt coach whose autostart is set for 11.9 volts is going to go longer than one set to 12.2. Similarly new batteries are going to go longer than older ones, especially if the older batteries have not received life extending charging practices.

Thanks Jon I think I will turn off shore power and see if I can locate the sound, I just am not looking forward to pulling the fridge out to get back behind the panel. do you know if it could be the 12 or 24 volt converter? as always I thank you for your advice. By the way your advice on fixing the rear camera worked great we have had 40 degree weather and with hot showers no condensation on the camera housing thanks again

Check the ceiling lights. They might be 24volt. 12volt replacement bulbs last only a couple seconds.

New Prevost owners should replace all the incandescent ceiling lights ASAP. These lights are very effective heaters!!!!!

We’ve been towing our rwd 07 Toyota FJ Cruiser w/automatic trans four down since June of 2010. Remco coupler & Shifter. No pump is necessary. You DO need the leave a key in the ignition so the steering wheel doesn’t lock.

205K on the FJ and not showing its age at all. Great vehicle.

Last year while driving down the road on a weekend trip, I noticed on the dash aux pressure gauge that the aux system pressure would drop from 120 to 90 psi in about 60 seconds. This is not normal. I only reason I caught this when I did was because I had installed a dash aux pressure gauge yrs prior. The problem was a large aux system leak that I could easily hear in the steer compartment at the next rest area.

I always lift tag when making a slow tight turn, however after having two new 365 tires tread cupping on outside edge, I realized making the tag lift chain tighter it actually allows tag to be raised about an inch higher but not completely off the ground. Just another reason not to have 365`s. Lift chain has some slack when in normal ride position.

For any one considering a DIY refrigerator replacement in an XLII, I posted a recap of my experience replacing the Amana by myself in a parking lot in Phoenix (with some brief intermittent help from one skinny guy and the “loan” of use of a forklift) while on a trip late last year. It is in the Diagnostic and Repair Nuggets category.

I specifically stayed away from heater mats or blankets and instead compartmentalized my 4 8D batteries in a sealed compartment. I have that compartment set using a heater control (a fancy word for a thermostat with a temperature read out) powering a small 200 watt space heater that maintains the compartment above 40 degrees F.

The intent with my set up is to insure there are no hot or cold spots, and the batteries are in an environment with a uniform temperature.

If I am in very cold ambient conditions before I do anything, I will look at my compartment temperature readout to verify it is above 40 degrees. If it is below I will insure I adjust the inverter charging current appropriately.

your making faster progress than me. If you get a chance will you send a picture with the bumper down so I can see how you mounted it. Also, would love to see pictures as you do the windshields. I was told that the opening is slightly smaller than The 4 windshield opening and would have to fiberglass in about an inch, which for me is not a big deal compared to paying the $10K + that prevo wants for the upper cap. I am curious on what you experience with the center bar and the new rubber, if something needs to be done differently (modifications) there.
