Just completed the updates to IOS 10 … works perfectly… did them (ipads) one at a time just incase something went wrong.
All apps up to date also.
So happy to have it done… did it in the house to use my unlimited home data.
I seriously doubt anyone will have a problem with it.
Cheers, Diane

A jake or retarder that is not enabled 100% of the time is NOT going to be any help when a panic stop is required.
In a panic stop situation nobody is going to be able to find and push the button to engage either the retarder or jake when the entire focus is on getting stopped so there is no collision. If the jake or retarder is turned off except when needed its only purpose is going to be to get more life out of the brake linings.

Leave it alone. Unless you find yourself drag racing Newells up mountains, or trucks from stop light to stop light what exactly do you hope to accomplish?
If you want to go faster start stripping weight out of the coach.

The vin # for the coach is 2PCW334931027060
This means it is a 2001 not a 2000? My mistake.
Does this change the windshield as the best option?

We, Marathon owners have no need for the Liberty rose petals as our tanks never stink! Ha!

You can run Doug, but you can’t hide. Beautiful place you’re visiting, check Bernies bus for a PC plate, if he’s flying one, all is well in the world. If not, I’ll get the PC Enforcer (BA) to handle the problem.

You still might have to find the controllerfor the SMX panel as it’s between the panel and the Cruiseair. Geo.

Mark,
I hadn’t changed the sensor in the earlier post yet, but I did change the sensor today, and BTW Tom, the PVC tool worked as you said!
My next trip, I will post the findings of the different sensor.

I’m glad I found this older thread as I don’t like to start a new one unnecessarily. 🙂
I’m thinking of stopping at Mountain Falls Motorcoach Resort after mid Sept. working my way to Liberty Coach in Stuart Florida. My brother and his wife will be following me in their coach as we will spend some time in Asheville beforehand and they will follow me to Lake Toxaway.
So, my first question is, have any of you taken the route from Asheville to Mountain Falls in Lake Toxaway (I-40 to the I-26 to the cutoff of hwy 280 which turns in hwy 64? I know it is mentioned that the road is curvy, etc. How are the tree’s, any low ones to be concerned about if any of you have been on it recently?
My second question is, how is hwy 64 heading southwest after I leave Lake Toxaway where I would cutoff to hwy 281 connecting to I-85 south? Low trees? Problems? Bad roads?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

In all honesty, while I know what a relay IS, I have no clue what it does or how it does it. As to swapping it out, that’s just push and pull. First I tried a couple knuckle taps…

The only disconnects I have had on my XL series chassis were the chassis battery master switches located above the chassis batteries. House battery master disconnects were usually located near the house batteries and clearly labeled as such.
From Tom’s post he suggests Marathon, on an H locates the house master(s) in the rear near the chassis batteries.

Different coaches with different tire sizes have options. Ever since we had our first coach, with not so common 120 / 22.5 tires we realized dealing with a tire failure requires a plan.
Here are my suggestions for what they are worth.
View the tag axle as the place to put any odd size tire.
If you have 120 tires all around and the tire size is not avalable you can use an 110 /22.5 or a 295 size tire on the tag. If you put the odd size on the tag a used tire with a date code of under 5 or 6 years will even work to get you to your local tire dealer and allow you to continue your trip.
The same thing applies to any coach with 315 tires all around.
If you have 315 drives, and 365 steer and tags it is not so simple. A steer tire failure means the spare is going to come from the tag if you cannot find a 365 replacement. The wheels are wide, but in an emergency you can resume travel with a 315 on the wheel and placed on the tag axle. Not a great choice, but it will get you back on the road until you can replace it.
If the failure is a drive tire you have no options but to replace the failed tire with a 315. It is not wise to run two different size tires side by side on the drive axle because one of them is going to be carrying the bulk of the load and it is probable that one will be overloaded.
For years I carried a spare, but realized it aged out just like the tires on the coach so I just make sure I maiintain the tires properly, keep them inflated to the correct pressures and get rid of them when they reach my self imposed age lim it of 6 years, sooner if I see any sidewall or tread cracks.
If you have a roadside repair service agreement and the tire failure is on the drive or tag and the service provider says you need a tow, ask for your money back because you are not towing your coach with the back end up in the air. That requires a flat bed trailer only. Towing places your coach at great risk of damage. Putting it on a trailer increases the chances of a risk even more. You have to be in serious trouble before you need a tow.
