Dean, on H there are 2 screws holding the fixture in place. Remove and you will get to the bulb/socket…

    Brett,

Pictures help especially exterior or who has the listing. We can then go look and see.

I think most of us remember or ID the exterior paint. There are no copycat Prevost paint jobs, every bus has its own.

    My point exactly………..

I understand converters wanting to keep pace with technology, but just because the technology is available it doesn’t mean it might be the best choice.

Compare the list of devices that can fail on a circuit in which a switch is the only open or close device in the path of current from the source to the device such as a light. Then compare the number of devices that have to open or close just to turn on a light as the coaches have evolved.

By devices I mean even the items in the circuitry that have to “communicate” with something else as part of the process of delivering power to a light.

For a remotely located coach in storage I completely understand the benefit of being able to monitor the coach, its power, temperatures, and turn things on or off as required via a phone. That’s neat stuff and has a real value. But to me the BS I have to go through just to open a pocket door from the kitchen side is as stupid as the remote monitoring is smart. Somewhere common sense has to come into play.

    Brett,

It was great talking with you earlier. I knew we had communicated via email several times over the past few weeks about a request for a Saturday showing, but I was unaware I missed your call. I want to post my cell number and a couple of general comments for the folks here at PC. My personal cell number is 214-538-1966. I spend much of my day on the phone, or in the shop with customers. If you don’t reach me, please leave a message so I may return your call. Our business hours are 9-5 CST M-F. I take after hours and weekend calls from the many coach owners we have sold over the years, and it’s my pleasure to be available to help at most any time day, or night. In an effort to balance my work life and family life (wife and 3 year old daughter), we are closed on the weekend and the phone line is picked up by VM. We return calls and emails the following Monday. We do meet customers on weekends by appointment, on a limited basis, and are happy to try and accommodate that request. I look forward to seeing you in Dallas soon.

Thanks to everyone for their continued support!

The “new” motor will drive whatever it’s attached to at almost twice the speed of the original motor, assuming the new motor can develop the torque required to drive the attachment.

The reasons for reduction gearing are to reduce speed and increase torque.

What is the original motor driving?

    Dean,

That is one big TV you have.

Any chance to get a picture of the support and brackets on back side ?

Any chance to show the electric source pick up and control box for the bus lights ?

I know this is an old thread but have a question. When you raise your tag should it come all the way up off the ground. I just had all 8 bags on my 99 XLV Marathon replaced at Prevost Ft. Worth as well as the lift chamber on the driver side of the bus. Also, as someone else has mention my lifting arm was frozen up and bent, so we replaced it as well. The tech told me that on passenger buses that the tag wheels would come off the ground, but on conversion buses it would not come all the way off, but just unload them. My friend has a 2000 H series and said his used to come all the way off the ground, but since Prevost Ft. Worth worked on it recently, his no longer come off the ground. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Now… That is a nice set of ramps!!! There is also some money invested in them also.

Jon, I am not sure how you put the picture on my previous post!!!

I think I am going to build mine out of steel. I think they might be a little lighter .

Knowing the chassis year is a great help. Thanks. What would one expect to pay on this repair?

Here are Blackstone Labs “base numbers”

The top numbers are wear metals, etc.

The bottom numbers are oil properties.

These baseline numbers are for a DDEC V Series 60 engine with EGR only.

Tom, looks like is just adhesive tape, but on top of the strip someone added , I believe Sika ….I did some side correspondence with Jeff, he suggested clean/Sika glue In place….I just do not want any further problems/leaks. I have no water leaks so far, just this small aesthetic issue…that I would like to get fixed…

If the question is if the skin delamination of a coach has been repaired, yes you can tell, and no you can’t.

The final skin repair design involves resealing panels to the extent possible, preferrably without removing them. Once resealed the entire perimeter is riveted and the rivets are sealed. Along the top of the panel a Z strip is riveted in place and sealed to prevent any possibility of water getting behind the outer panel(s).

Then at the joints between panels a stainless steel strip about 2″ wide, with flutes to match the flutes in the side panels is installed by riveting top and bottom in an area hidden by the strips that gird the coach and it is glued (sealed) in place. Then the coach repair is painted where necessary to restore the original appearance. If you are close to a coach and looking for a sign it has been repaired the strips overlying the joint between panels is the visual clue.

Prior to the above described repair Prevost used a repair method that duplicates the method now used to manufacture the coaches. There is no visible sign with that repair to show it was done.

As the resident cynic and knowing there are shops that might be willing to cut corners I would only rely on paperwork that shows the work was performed. If Prevost does the repair there will be a detailed work order. I would not accept work done by anyone other than Prevost.
