IT IS ONE OF 3 THINGS:

    1. Electrical – unlikely, a switch or fuse?

    2. Mechanical – Bent or dirty (or cold) mechanism

    3. Pneumatic – Most Likely – Is there air pressure in the AUX system? There is an electrically controlled air valve in the compartment under the drivers feet. Does it function? There is a pressure regulator nearby just for the step slide. Maybe increase the pressure a little. This likely will help if you can coax it in or out with a hand or foot.

    Good luck!

    Dan,

Your local WW Grainger should be able to supply the exact part you need.

    Hey Guys,

I see in the Motorhome magazine towing guide for 2017 that the Jeep Compass and the Jeep Patriot can be towed four down with the manual transmission only.

I have to say that I have never seen a Compass or Patriot towed behind a motorhome (not saying there are not any). I have certainly seen Jeep Wranglers (2 and 4 doors), Cherokee’s, Grand Cherokee’s, etc.

    Good luck on your search!

The other day I went out to the coach and it has 2 electric heaters down by floor and the 1 in bathroom was running and knob was all the way towards off but it was cold enough heater was on. those 2 heaters do not go through inverters so I Re wired and I put a house style switch with 1 receptacle on it so now I can shut heater off and also plug in my Dyson heater safety into it with out putting a strain on Inverters.

One thing everyone needs to be aware of is the Norgren water trap shown MAY NOT protect your coach from moisture coming from the aux compressor.

Of the conversions I have a little knowledge of none use that water trap to prevent aux compressor moisture laden compressed air from entering the Prevost accessory tank or system. Before the Marathon folks remind me their system is isolated I am aware of that but if the coach has slides then the Marathon accessory system has to merge with the Prevost system to keep the slide seals inflated.

Make sure you are aware of if your coach does have a means of trapping moisture from the aux compressor, and if it does service it as often as needed, and if it does not seriously consider adding a trap or dryer that is capable of preventing moisture from traveling downstream.

Currently stored in a unit that is 55’x15’ with a 14’x12’ roll door. Insulated ceiling and side walls.

I do not have room to expand to 55’ although I find it provides good working area with roll door closed. I can probably expand to 50’ by adding 5’ to each end. I plan to close in and add the roll door.

Thank you to everyone that has responded.

I had everything striped off the roof on the current 2007 Marathon H3-45 at Marathon Coberg location.

Marathon suggestion… installed the Direct TV rotating disc which you raise when parked , folded down to travel. It’s mounted over the bedroom. Wiring suggestion, when I start the bus the rear dish is wired to spin and stow down.

My pre -trip check routine still checks if spin and stow happens. We know about electric glitches.

Over the front cap Marathon built an aluminum base mounting a Wineguard T-4 color black (also available white )over the front cap. The T-4 is my in motion or with a flip of a switch locks in place went parked.

    Just a couple of ideas….

If your vintage is like our previous 2000 CC XLV, you have a belt. It’s a PITA to get to and replace, so you don’t want to have to replace it on the road. BTW ours was a 17.5 Powertech mntd fr to rear and not on a slide. Geo.

I don’t think changing fans is going to resolve the issue. Yes they draw some current, but the guilty party to the consumption of electric is more than likely the circulating pump.

Try not to shoot in the dark. A lot of owners call for service and get a lot of things replaced or repaired because they think those are the problem when in fact they are not.

A relay valve issue can usually be easily diagnosed. If you can air up the coach and the brake pressures drop after shutting the coach down the leak is almost always a relay valve. A fast leak can be heard. If both drop the problem is usually associated with the relay valve for the parking brakes. If just one system drops it is usually the relay associated with primary or secondary circuit.

If the coach will not build air pressure it also could be an air dryer purge valve issue. If pressure drops when the parking brake is released it could be the diaphragm on a parking brake chamber.

My point is before deciding what you are going to have repaired let the professional mechanics do the diagnosis.

    Chip,

It is not uncommon for a brake system that holds air pressure forever to have a time when the pressure goes away in a few hours. Sometimes the relay valve does not seat properly, and it leaks.

However, if a leak occurs because the valve is old and failing and the pressure loss is normal it will not hurt to verify the valve as a culprit and get it replaced. They are both cheap and quick to replace and the consequences of trying to nurse one beyond its useful life could be you might experience a situation where you cannot build air pressure. Then it gets expensive.
