Posted by Roy on December 30, 2017 at 3:31 pmThe strep well cover will not retract on our Royale. Any Royale owner with suggestions as to what to check?
Thanks,
Roy

IT IS ONE OF 3 THINGS:
1. Electrical – unlikely, a switch or fuse?
2. Mechanical – Bent or dirty (or cold) mechanism
3. Pneumatic – Most Likely – Is there air pressure in the AUX system? There is an electrically controlled air valve in the compartment under the drivers feet. Does it function? There is a pressure regulator nearby just for the step slide. Maybe increase the pressure a little. This likely will help if you can coax it in or out with a hand or foot.
Good luck!

The step cover moves freely, it just is always out. We have pushed it in and wedged it closed (mostly). Are you talking about the Aux Jun-Air compressor? I have air showing on the dash “A” gauge.
Is the compartment under my feet accessible from the left side?
i have two additional Royale questions: 1. Does the Aux Jun-Air run anything? Book only says it to inflate things. 2. What is this oil can supposed to be used to oil? See photo.
P.S.
Buzz and Nancy are good friends of ours from Tiger Run.
Thanks for for your suggestions.

I just replaced my Mac Valve for slide cover. !st thing is you need air in aux tank and valve should be in steer compartment it is Blue and has 3 1/4 inch lines, 1st on one side supply and 2 comming off other side it also needs 12volt power to it’s solenoid on top of it. the part is a Monaco part

Roy, I have a spare valve with me. You make it in to Casa Grande yet?

Yes, the A gauge is the air for suspension and air-power things in the coach (step slide, slide seals, driver’s seat, etc. It is supplied by the engine when running and Jun-Air when stopped.

Just open the side door under the drivers side window. In my bus the air valve and rgulator are pretty deep in the compartment and toward the front.

See above

Jun-Air is an oil-filled compressor. You should use the oil can to top off the compressor and keep oil level in the sight glass. Use the right oil. Also, the Jun-Air does require some maintenance to keep water and oil out of your system. Reach out to Royale Phoenix for supplies and info.
