We can imagine a lot of reasons for the problems, but low batteries was not one of them.

I replaced my thermostat, but it was located on top WH. I set the temp at 135 degrees.

I believe the bottom one I’m looking at does not control the temp, but reads the temp from the programmable one on top.

It does look like some type of electrical short occurred.

I have no bias against Apple. I don’t like any technology more complex than 2 tin cans and a string.

Here is one thing few people seem to understand about conventional RV, in this case a 5th wheel.

An empty Prevost shell weights around 31,000# and the completed coach around 55,000#. Keep in mind that difference is only what is the house portion interior and systems. The Prevost chassis already has the walls, roof, frame, wheels and windows.

So to create a “house” inside a shell takes about 24,000#

How much quality and how robust can the construction of an RV of similar size have if it can be built at a weight that not only includes the wheels, frame, walls roof and windows but the interior and still be towed by a vehicle smaller than the average Kenworth?

    Best of luck Chip,

I’ve only owned this bus and class c motorhomes, so I have no personal experience with 5th wheels/trailers. I simply like driving in a motorhome much more than towing something down the road with a smaller vehicle.

But I wish you both well as you pursue your 5th wheel.

You could see what code is making the ‘Check Engine’ light come on with the ‘Stop Engine Override’ switch. Copied from another site…

    A. Turn the ignition key to the start position, but do not start the coach.
    B. Immediately to the right of the ignition key is the red engine override switch. Press it once and release.
    C. This will begin the DDEC diagnostic. A code is interpreted by a series of flashes. The red stop engine light will show you active codes. The yellow check engine light will show you historical codes. All codes have two digits. So, after you follow the steps above you see the red light flash two times quickly followed by a brief pause and the five quick flashes again that would be equal to code 25. The diagnostic tool will progress through all active codes (red) first and then show all historical codes (yellow). This can be very valuable at helping to narrow the possibilities of what is going on when you are stranded.

My dad purchased one from a Chicago transit company in the early 60s. He built a jig for it and rolled it up0 side down, replaced the spring suspension with his patented air ride. He also replaced the Buick L8 and gear box with a 6V53 Detroit and Allison transmission. I was in the DOG HOUSE for a long time for trying to help out by steam cleaning the aluminum side panels. He had to re-anodize them. I use his FMCA plates # 790 on my machine.

I should have said what the pictures don’t convey is how snug the door is locked down. With this lock there is virtually no movement. With the pin lock my door would wiggle and rattle a bit.

If you’re lucky enough to have a receipt they don’t want them back, they send a new one and you throw away the bad one, at least that what they told me. I’ve had them for years, one probably with a 3rd party the other I think I bought new at Parliament with cash. I know, you’re thinking read the warranty, only Jon does that.
