Most truck stops in OR will show 4 diesel prices, diesel with PUC permit and without and paid with cash or credit. I guess OR is concerned that truckers would not buy enough fuel in the state, so trucks are charged on a weight/mile basis every month. Seems like a lot of overhead/complexity. They are also thinking about charging cars by mileage.

Just a note about road height! Many times the vehicle will not get to true road height until it is exercised a bit. This is many times due to the weight of the vehicle. This can make the coach slow to rise but once it gets to road height it stays there fairly well. As Jon and Andre have noted the pneumatic system is many times overlooked in the maintenance cycle and moisture gets into vlaves . Plus the fact that most motor homes sit for extended periods can let internal parts begin to corrode.
At least once a year you should have all the air tanks completely drained to see if your air dryer is still functioning well. Then every two years the air dryer cartridge should be changed. That way you are pro-active with the system and you will not get into issues such as this one. If you are purchasing a vehicle and are not sure of the history of the pneumatic system, have the air dryer serviced. It is not expensive and generally done easily.
As a note also on the pneumatic system on the coaches! the converters have always installed some form of air compressor to make up lost air for toilets , pocket doors, etc, For many of the early models the output of the compressor was simply “t”ed into the auxilary air system of the coach. Thus they introduced non-filtered air into the coach system after the coach air dryer. Moisture was put directly into the system. As years went by the converters began to install a water and oil separator to the output of thier compressor before it dumped into the coach system. This is one of those things that is not readily apparent when you look at the air system. Just check the system with draining the air tanks and service the air dryer regularly. It will help greatly with sticky and sluggish air valves and prevent freezing in the valves if yoiu get caught in that dreaded cold weather.

Gerald,
It’s not exactly 20 min, sometimes more or less. It’s something getting hot and shutting picture off, the screen still says “Video”.
I’ve Googled it, and it says PCB board going bad, but got to get the TV down first.

We are going to Bella Terra this weekend for the 4th. I had to send them a pic of our coach and they approved it no problem. Very nice people on the phone and seemed very accomodating.

I feel your pain Dave, your bus was my bus before I sold it to Peter.
He is missed by many…
I would suggest Bella Terra in Foley, AL, that’s where we have our annual Oysterfest in AprIl.

Hi Andy, I’ve seen this a few times now but do not remember hearing what happened to the folks in the RV and SUV? I hope they are all well!!!Sad commentary on plastic coaches and that one is a Newmar Mountain Aire, one of the better plastic coach builders. I’m new to all that is Prevost and fully understand there can be hype and misdirection from many directions. But no one could look at that and not know that “COULD NOT” happen to a Prevost! What an extraordinary example of how fortunate we are!

I really wish this forum supported “Like” buttons.

Thanks for the kind, timely replies. I think we are going to narrow it down to just Apple Valley or Mountain Falls, depending on where we can book a site for 4-6 nights next week. The wife (Kim) is very partial to paved sites, whereas the Golden Doodle and myself aren’t nearly so picky!

Thanks Jimmy, I added it to the Links section.

I just read you post Bryon and right you are. I’ll not post anything more to this thread! -
my 89 didn’t have them. I thought it was mid 90’s before antilock was on coaches.

It is possible that one of the transfer switch contacts got damaged. When you switch while drawing large inductive currents, the contacts will arc and eventually destroy themselves.

Hi David,Were the Silver’s in fact a better engine? I hear all the time and many times here on the forum ” The 8V92 is the best engine ever made “! But regardless of that, Detroit made changes to the Silver engine, and I understand the addition of the computer etc was a big deal. Did you in fact find in actual use that it was a better engine?

Andy: Great picture. Well annotated. Are these codes on both sides of the tires? or just one side?
