Only in the latest models did Prevost make the wheelbase of the motorhome shell the same as the entertainer shell.
I have driven every iteration of Prevost motorhome coaches from 40 foot solid axle axle to 45 foot solid axle to my current 45 foot with IFS. The steering axle wheel angle allows for the sharpest turn on the IFS but as a driver I honestly cannot say any configuration stood out as far as being more or less able to negotiate campground roads.
Where I do see a huge difference between the XL and XLII 45 foot coaches compared to the X3 coach is how as drivers we have to compensate for entering or leaving a driveway or getting high centered.
The X3 and 40 foot coaches with minimal rear overhang and less likely to drag leaving a steep driveway onto a road, or to drag as the driveway ramps up quickly on entry. A local Pilot has a steep driveway at the truck entrance and the blacktop is scarred from all the vehicles trying to make the transition. I enter it at an angle instead of straight on to keep from damaging the coach.
One secondary road we cross somewhat regularly is high crowned compared to the crossing road and every time we cross it I can hear our plastic baffle in the center of the coach scrape. If we had the X3 longer wheelbase I would have to raise the coach before crossing that road.
Turning a coach becomes intuitive after a few trips and after a while as a driver you just know if you can make a turn. But changes in elevation such as highly crowned railroad crossings or steep driveways are likely to pose the greatest issues.

MemberAugust 24, 2013 at 7:30 am in reply to: Replacement for old Amana Fridge – 2001 Marathon HOn my ’01 XL11 Thompson, I went thru the door with a counter depth refrigerator. just pulled the refrigerator doors, removed the passenger seat and took off the bus door handle. Out with the old in with the new. No big deal, no stress just a little muscle. We went with a stainless unit so we didn’t have to deal with the Vitracore.

Brady,
It is terrible when work obligations take us away from the important stuff. Make sure all top level managers own a Prevost and they will shut down the company for rallies.
I have other great ideas too.

If we go, we are staying with the PC folks. Pudgy is not for show. It is a nice 20 foot car and I drive it, don’t show it.
If I brought it, assuming we still have it, I would trailer it, but would drive it around locally. Just wouldn’t feel comfortable dragging a 63 year old mechanical device behind the bus.

Tom,
If you have a procedure please convert it to a PDF file and post it as an article. Thanks.

Sheep PIzza, gasp, sheep are for company!

Andre,
We take 65 out of Conway up to Branson. It’s curvy, but a nice ride if you don’t mind hills, curves and some small towns.

Capt……..If you include the name of the converter in your signature line others with the same conversion could likely offer specific information relating to the problem.
In this instance your receptacle could be 12, 24 or 120 volts and the answer could range from guesses to an accurate assessment.

roger. There is a campground a bit west of Jackson on the road to Teton village. Haven’t been there in over 6 years but we had the Marathon XLII in there. Colter bay has ther Trailer Village but there again we haven’t been there since our Affinity days. The Virginian in town of Jackson has had a policy of no busses of the 45 foot variety. Don’t if that has changed.
You might be better off staying at Grizzly RV Park in West Yellowstone Mt and take a nice loop drive out of West on Hwy 191 towards Ashton ID. on the way take the short parrsllel side road which is a scenic by way to see Mesa Falls on Hwy 47 which get you into Ashton id on the east side of town then turn left on Hwy 32 or take 191 to Ashton Id and turn left go thru town then follow signs towards Driggs and Tetonia Id. Travel on rt 32 then left onto hwy 33 which at the ID-WY border changes to WY Hwy 22 into Jackson. Either way its beautiful drive especially being on the west side of the Tetons then going over Teton Pass. And yes, we have even driven it in the bus, several times in the past in the CC Xl 45 and even the Beaver with 8V92. No issues. There is a new RV park in Driggs I’d that looked nice from the road but you would have about a 35 mile drive back into Jackson
be sure to have breakfast in Jackson at Jedediah’s house of sourdough. Get there early. Also visit the cowboy bar where bars tools are saddles. City Center park has antler arches
Heading north toward ate ton park and Yellowstone you will 136 miles back to West Yellowstone. On the way Wtop in at Jackson Lake Lodge and go inside upstairs to see Tetons framed looking thri giant picture windows. The visito center at colter bay is nice to see too. The visito center at Moose Jct is a must see too also the little church of the transfiguration. Call me if you have further questions

Dean,
If our lot isn’t sold by then, it very well might be available come January of next year. If you still have an interest, just keep in touch as we get closer to fall.

I think you have someone drive it to a US RV park, put a for sale sign on it, buy it take the title and bus to DMV and register it. You might take the plates off it saying the owner is out of state and wants to use them on his new bus. A State DMV person will most likely look at the title, bill of sale and verify the Vin Number and issue new plates. Taxes are based on your state of residence. If you go thru the paper work with the bus in Canada it could take forever.
