Rally interest 2014…hot rod show St.Paul MN.
Here is a video about the Minnesota Street Rod Assoc. St.Paul ,MN. event held each year. Take a look at the video then post if interested in a small rally next year.
Always looking for ideas and fun destinations. Event date June 20-22, 2014. There is a big rigs park on the east side of St. Paul. I’am not sure what RV parking is available at Fair Grounds.

Sounds like a lot of fun and worth seeing and / or participating for those with classics or street rods. Any idea of RV park venue and how far away from the fairgrounds we would be?

Sounds like a lot of fun and I know a guy with a 1950 Ford.
Di calls the car Pudgy. It’s become my daily driver.

Going over the campground rules one rule puts us all out of the 2 camp grounds on the fair grounds. You must have a back to the 50’s car reg and displayed during the event.
On off site parking St Paul East RV park is 17 miles from the fair grounds. This Big Rig friendly park has 80 sites.
Made a call this morning about reserving sites for time period of MSRA in 2014. They will get back to me.
Jon, Pudge would be your ticket for parking in the south lot.

If we go, we are staying with the PC folks. Pudgy is not for show. It is a nice 20 foot car and I drive it, don’t show it.
If I brought it, assuming we still have it, I would trailer it, but would drive it around locally. Just wouldn’t feel comfortable dragging a 63 year old mechanical device behind the bus.

Al: St. Paul east is ok, but as an alternative if they don’t pan out, check out Dakotah Meadows at the Mystic Lake casino. It is actually nicer and all paved etc., but is farther to get to the fairgrounds, probably 20-25 miles.

We always wanted to go to this show but never made it there with a car. Not really sure why. We have friends who never miss this one. Great show.

St.Paul East campground has returned with good news. With my request 10 months away 6 sites could be reserved and set aside at the park for us.
All 6 would have water, 50 amp electric, sewer sites for 45 foot buses. Cost would be 450 + tax per night.
First night fee to hold booking.
St. Paul East RV is 17 miles one way from the Minnesota Fair Grounds. Suggestion from Mark3101 about Mystic Lake Casino the one way mileage is 27 miles. Left messages twice with no response.
Mystic camp ground is much nicer then St. Paul East RV but the drive is across town with traffic congestion a concern
Having grown up in St.Paul-Mpls. I’am familiar with the area. Few Big Rig RV parks to choose from.
