Except for those who are full timing or spending a season in their coach I don’t fully understand the importance of getting 100% access to every source of TV content.

With few exceptions we all have access to cable at an RV park, over the air local TV, usually satellite TV like Dish or Direct, and I am sure DVD’s. When we are in the bus I just cannot imagine having so much free time that we need all that content.

We have never watched a movie in the bus because we just haven’t wanted to sit in one place for such a long time. I have slack adjusters to polish and a lot of other better things to do.

I’m confused……..When the government wants to write a check and there is no money in the account, they just print more. I was just cutting out the middle man.

the reply button just opens a new thread, not replying to the original.

Jon, i get the idea of space for advertisers, but i would suggest putting the login button next to the logout button. Or perhaps move the logout button to the bottom. Why should i have to scroll to the bottom just to login?

if this is all to keep the site “free”, i would propose to charge us and dump advertisers revenue. For christ sake, most of us own a damn Prevost. I think we can afford a few bucks a month for “dues”

    Tim,

In case you haven’t seen my comments on the clearance getting into my bus garage let me give you the bad news.

To get my bus into the garage I have to do the following.. First to clear the worst of the transition from the upslope of the driveway to the flat garage floor (the only level concrete on the entire driveway) I have to leave the rear of the bus at the driving height, but I have to raise the front to its maximum height. That keeps the belly of the bus from dragging over the “hump” as the driveway goes from its 29 to 34% slope to level at the garage.

I have to stop as the coach rear bumper is at the garage entrance and lower the rear of the coach all the way down. Note I am saying all the way down which means I have atmospheric pressure in the rear air bags. That combined with the raised front pivots the rear of the coach down as low as it will go. At that point I can begin backing into the garage because I have 1/2″ clearance between the top of the door opening and the rear spoiler on the top of the bus. The space is so tight I cannot get my fingers between the spoiler and the door opening trim.

To try to understand how steep the driveway is at that point, when the rear of the bus is at the garage door the mirrors that are 45 feet away from that point are still below the floor level of the garage. That means the bus bumper which is usually around knee level is now up so high it is almost above my waist.

Once I get the bus almost all the way in I stop and return the front height to the driving height or lower. I can back in with it fully raised, but if I forget to lower it the arm on the door chain track will hit the satellite when I close the door.

So even if I deed you the garage in my will you will either do some damage to your taller H3, or to the top of the garage door opening, or both. You could dig the concrete floor and part of the driveway down to provide the clearance but then you would have a pretty shallow pit, or you could raise the entire garage 12″, but without you buying a lower bus or modifying the garage or driveway the grease pit will be nothing more than a dream.

    Hi Jim,

I remember the cops talking about your twitchy fingers. Or was that sticky, I forget?

You ask good questions and the answer will prove to be interesting. We all remember the Obama administrations drive into the automobile business called “Cash for Clunkers” and one of the unintended consequences was the way it raised the price of used cars throughout the country. I think we can expect the same thing here.

I have no idea the percent of increase or how long it will last but it would be hard to believe it won’t be there.

It includes a huge “Buyers Beware” doesn’t it? Because we know there will be unscrupulous folks out there selling them with no “water damage” claim associated with the sale. And certainly as you so aptly stated Jim, RV’s will be part of the mix!

    Ronnie,

You’ll be able to recoup some of your expense, the Microphor toilets are in demand, they don’t make them anymore and you can sell it. Once removed, if you can find the parts, repair it or sell as is.

Recently saw a video on YouTube where someone filmed the reaction of a truck driver whose king pin had been pulled by someone else. The trucker pulled forward to leave and the trailer dropped on the ‘landing gear’… now I wonder if the guy who did it was indulging in some payback. Jon, we used our card at the Love’s in Boardman OR with no trouble. Haven’t been to IN yet. Kirby

    Andy,

Shore power is 50 amps on each of two legs for a total of 100 Amps. A 20kW generator gives you about 167 Amps (20,000W/120V= 167A).

Wow Rudy that’s not much product for a 40′ bus, but if that’s what it is that’s some super concentrated stuff! The product I first saw called Spit Shine I believe used a bucket of water to first wet the area and then use the Spit Shine.

With Wash and Wax All you just use the produce right?

I must admit I’m hard pressed to believe that I can drive 2300 miles to The Grate State of Wyoming and use no water to wash my bus? As others have said it seems like the underlying dirt would leave scratches.
