Jeff and ETLC crew are going to replace my refrigerator too. I am glad the windshield is NOT one piece that is typically used on most Class A pushers.
I have been told one piece windshields don’t reseal well after removal.

All kidding aside, why don’t the converters listen to what we are teasing each other about and realize they can make some of these silly problems go away?
Our coaches are really great, but each conversion has its share of really stupid features.

Hey Jim, What in the world did they do to cost $4000? Did they pay for it or was it on you? I guess we don’t think about where we go for help to hurt. BTW, thanks for the help the other day…

OK guys………….I let it go when Colt said it, but when Last Coach, No Slides Tom mentioned it again I have to comment.
Prevost does not recommend slide pin lubrication unless something has changed since I last read that. A dry lubricant might be acceptable but make certain that if any lubricant is used it will mask a certain binding, and when it is worn off the problem will still be there.
But if a lubricant other than dry lubricant is used it is going to collect dust, dirt, and grit and literally grind away at the pin and socket. If the pins are adjusted correctly no lubricant should ever be required.
In Colt’s case his pins may have been adjusted after his coach was loaded with all his stuff. That is good. In Tom’s case he likely still has a lot of weight of personal goods to load in the coach and that has the potential to affect the pin adjustment.

My original drain plug leaked, and by the appearance of the oil pan and bell housing, looks like it has leaked for years prior to our purchase of the coach. The original drain plug was tight but still would drip every once in a while. We were going to replace the original drain plug but since we do our own oil changes so we decided to try one of the FEMCO drain plugs for convenience and a little less mess.
We now have a clean oil pan and a purdy shiney new brass drain plug. Oh yea, it doesn’t leak now.

Ive never understood buying milk when there is a chance of power outages. I go straight for the beer section. Warm beer is still better then sour milk 🙂

First of all you need to know and understand what coolant was used. Nothing I have to say is going to be good news.
If Jeff used an organic chemistry extended life coolant which has a 6 year life, by adding conventional coolant or SCAs you have reverted it back to a 2 year coolant and changed the chemistry and benefits of the extended life coolant.
If it was a conventional 2 year Ethylene Glycol coolant it has a 2 year life and if it was changed in 2014, it should have been replaced in 2016 and should be replaced again in 2018 no matter what the test strips show.
One of the biggest risks of buying a used coach without service records is the coach having been run without the needed coolant or transmission fluid changes. A while ago a Vantare with only 42,000 miles had to have an engine rebuild because the coolant had never been changed and cavitation caused porosity in the engine cylinder liners leading to engine failure. Yet despite the risk of engine damage I remain surprised at how many owners fail to change and maintain coolant.

Tom and I get a lot of emails and calls from folks with issues relating to the site and if we cannot help the person with the problem by describing how to use the site, we log in as the user and see if we can duplicate the problem. If we do duplicate the problem, despite doing everything right we get our web guru involved.
Mostly however site problems relate to log in issues, use of some browsers, or some devices. Apple leads the list of being related to our problems and since Tom is 100% Apple devices he knows how to work around those problems and has posted the solutions often on this site.
As a computer challenged person my free advice to those with problems is to make sure you are logged in, and once that has been done to just push buttons, play with the site and explore the various ways of posting, starting new threads, posting photos, etc. You cannot hurt anything and you will actually find almost 100% of the problems encountered have a fix as simple as clicking on the correct button.

Yes very good point 12V verses 24V is a big difference. So mine has half the Ah’s and will last just as long as a 2016 with Lithium ion’s. The old 12V Classic is not doing so bad after all with its upgrades. Marks coach pulls a lot of juice !

For what it’s worth, you cannot compare amp-hours directly if they are rated at different voltages. Mark can multiply his rating times two to get the equivalent amp-hours at 12 vdc.
Mark, at what voltage does your generator start or is it based on the state of charge of your batteries?
