Thanks for all the pointers and ideas.
I might be lucky (for once). It looks like on our coach the only use for the little aux compressor is the bathroom door and the footwell slide. I always wondered why Marathon isolated the little compressor and its pancake tank via valve from the coach aux system. Now I know and am glad they did. I’ll fire up the engine to make sure the aux air system is tight before we leave.
Another mystery is that the bathroom door still works even without air. It opens and closes except for the last 0.5 inch soft close. I am at a loss to explain that.

This isn’t mist but rather what appears and feels like pure used engine oil.
Found a previous thread. It also mentions saturation of the dryer cartridge. This did occur on mine at about 75K miles ( it was a florida coach with tons of water in the tanks when I acquired it at 47K) but the filter was replaced at that time and hasn’t been repaced since. I guess I’ll just replace the filter, it’s been 100K, and wait it out.

MemberJanuary 23, 2013 at 9:38 am in reply to: Anyone near Dallas and can look at an XL for me?My home is about 20 minutes from Mr Olivers. I almost bought a bus from them but they sold it to someone else .. who walked in with cash a few hours before I came back. (In fairness they called me and said it was sold) Seemed like a reasonable bunch to work with. If you still need someone to look at it I’d be happy too. If you need someone to do a full inspection, the folks over at Blue Moon RV work on my Prevost and do pre-buy inspections.

Tom: what do you mean by having to be straight with the Blue Ox? I don’t have any issues with mine and am not always straight when hooking or unhooking. Maybe I am missing something…..

Larry,
My bet is our fan is a Nicro N20354S. As you’ve discovered its discontinued. So, you have three choices, as I see it.
- Replace your fan with a solar powered version of the same. This should ensure the same fitment (you should check on fitment first).
- See if you can find a replacement motor or have a motor shop rebuild it. FYI. it may be too small for a motor shop to care.
- Change the fan out with a different 12V fan.
What ever your cure, let the rest of us know. The form factor of our fan is most widely used on boats. Doing a quick search it looks like all new versions have went to solar powered.

This is where internet diagnosis fails.
When you say they come on and then go off does that mean without any intervention by you, or does that mean when you actuate the switch?
If you have an automatic resetable circuit breaker I could understand that happening. I could envision a bad relay perhaps doing that. It could be a loose connection at the switch. One thing is for sure. Things that are broken do not repair themselves and electric devices that act contrary to normal behavior are particularly troublesome because of the potential for a fire. Until that is sorted out I would be very sure when the coach is unattended the circuit in question, or perhaps the entire coach gets the electric turned off. Just be sure to shut it down properly because inverters and the watchdog require a specific sequence of actions.

Slow day here on the old Goat Farm so I will add to the mix.
Every pole in the parking lot of WallyWorld in Kingman Az has a “no overnight parking” sign attached to it. This is because to RV’ers decided they did not like each other, so they had a gunfight in the parking lot, one died and the other went to prison.
We were accosted by the local Police there in 2004 when he rudely informed me there would be no overnight parking. I in turn told him I was resting, he of course did not buy it. Then he said I should move on, and I showed him a receipt that said I had spent $63 and some change in the store, and when i was ready to move on, I would do so.
He came back and checked on us three times. Needless to say, we did not spend the night.
A fifth wheel in Colorado parked next to us and spent the night, the next morning they dumped all their trash on the ground and drove off. I got a trash-bag and cleaned it up, wife thought I was nuts, but it was that or face what comes down the line afterwords.
If you can not lock up your dump valves you cannot spend the night in Harrah’s Casino at Lake Tahoe. Sore losers dumped their tanks right into the parking lot and then drove off. California is about the most restrictive no parking zone in the country. We were told to get off the street in Pasadena Tx by the local police, and I showed him the parking restrictions downloaded from the Internet that said we could legally park on the street for 48 hours. I showed him we had been there for only five (fuel receipt, dated with time) and he said …. “I don’t care, move it or I will call a wrecker.”
Texas, it’s like a whole nuther country y’all.
Some Okie nitwit parked 6 weeks at the WallyWorld in OKC before moving on. We were asked to leave the mall parking lot in Amarillo, Tx by security. They want your money, but they don’t want you. We use church parking lots, hospitals, 45‘ of level ground, but it getting harder to find a suitable spot to rest.
If all this wasn’t enough, we have the added disadvantage of driving an old bus (29 years old) and now they are starting to heat up on that too. All of a sudden the treehouse in Belize and eating bananas is starting to look better and better each day.

You have to cure it else it won’t last.
I had coated one set of headers and didn;t cure it. Had to have them bead blasted about 6 months later. Second time I cured and the finish stayed put.

Thanks Dianne for the tips on the panels down in the bays. I will be investigating in the morning.
Sawdust, You have given me a lot of great information. Sunday is a busy day for me (I am an evangelist and conducting a tent revival this week too) so I will work on digesting it later tonight. I am sure I will be contacting you. Thank you so much for posting. I plan to change these Wednesday so I have a couple of days to pull it all together.
God bless,

Jons advice is sound but I can tell you what Prevost said since I have done what you are asking. On the drivers side of my coach, I left the first 5 and the last 2 windows. On the passenger side, I left the first six and the last 2. Some try to leave the windows and frames in place but I removed them by removing the rivets. That left only the frame to rivet new siding to. I went to a local metal shop, bought 4′ X 9′ 4052 aluminum sheets 3/32″ thick. I made a template of the shape of the side frames. I took the sheets and the template to a local sheet metal shop that roll formed the the sheets to match the frame template. I obtained 1/8″ thick by 2″ wide roll mastic tape from an internet provider. I rolled the mastic on the outside of the frame members. Once that was done, I lifted the rolled sheet up on the side and attached the upper left (could by any upper corner, left or right) with one rivet behind the “H” molding that has to be raised to remove the window frame. Then my lovely wife stood inside the bus with a propane weed burner purchased from a farm supply store blasting on the aluminum sheet. After about 10 minutes on high and moving back and forth along the sheet, when I thought it had expanded as much as it would, I riveted the opposite upper corner, and both lower corners. My advice, if you’re going down this road, go to Harbour Freight, get on their website or a rivet company website and buy yourself an aircraft air riveter. It is a work and time saver and only cost about $50-90 US. Then while she kept the heat in place but not blasting it, I moved to the center and riveted top and bottom. I then split that distance, again with heat. After that, I gave her a break and just finished riveting the sheet using the same pattern as the window frames that had been there before. BTW, size the sheets to fit your window frames before starting the rivet process. Other self converters set the coach in the hot summer sun and let it do the work. That would be great in places like Arizona/Florida but I wasn’t sure it would work in Missouri, where I live, especially when I was doing mine in September, so I went with the burner. I see you’re in Canada, so you will have to use your own judgement. One other self converter I know used three diesel fired space heaters on high by setting them on sawhorses along the sheet but it is much more expensive than my approach unless your have the spaceheaters or can use them afterward. It worked well for him. I also raised my coach 9 inches since mine was a seated coach and I needed the headroom. Putting 4 panels on my coach took me 2 weeks working evenings for a few hours and weekends. Others do this in a few days but I was particular and getting she and I working together at the same time took some coordination and extended the time to complete.
Some things to think about. you must use some kind of tape to separate the aluminum sheet from the steel frame or you will get corrison. You must have something to heat the aluminum sheets or when the coach gets in the hot sun in an RV park, the sides will wave like crazy. You need to get the rivets from a reputable rivet company who can also sell you drill bits that are the right size (not more than 1/32″ bigger than the rivet) and the bits are razor sharp. With the steel frame, the bits would drill about 10 holes before they went dull. I bought a “Drill Doctor Pro” sharpener and 8 bits. I still have the bits and the Drill Doc after nearly 4K of rivets.
HTH. If you would like to ask more questions, contact me off board through the board, love to share. No pics were taken when we were doing this as she and I were both busy. I regret it but that is the way it is.

Timely question I too am interested in. We will be headed to Alaska in a few weeks witha new to us 99 Country Couch. When and where will you be crossing? Our route is from Florida to Montana via Virginia. I’m thinking we’ll be crossing mid June, at the earliest.

Jon, don’t you know that the Administrative Office section of Prevost is not open at 6:49am? HA!
Had to do it! You know me!
PS: Trivia answer is “New Fuel Pump!”
Lots of Love….Sandy
