I activated the cards yesterday. I look on Loves web site to figure fuel stops. Its nice to be able to go looong distances in between fueling. Lower half of the eastern US is the place to fuel up with much better fuel prices. I figured I’ll save between $80. and $100 this winter when traveling. Good thing because that will allow me to have the money for a light upgrade and keep up with the Jones. Rick

If the other drivers can’t see the big bus maybe the can at least see the bright lights. Nice upgrade.

Tom you are right about the fuel card, does feel like stealing not so much the price, but the fact you do everything at the pump and no reciept. I pulled out looking in in my side mirrors expecting to see someone running after me, maybe a police car down the road.

    Jon,

Since you have a two slide coach and have OTR air, does that mean that the air vents are just on once side of the coach? Are there vents in the ceiling? How is it set up?

The Prevost passenger buses that I’ve been on have the air vents at the bottom of the window frame evenly on both sides.

PS. We currently have three ducted roof air units. So, no matter which one is on or all three, air will come out all of the vents. Of course, which ever air is on, the vents located right near that particular unit, the air has a little more force coming out those vents.

So far this thread is suggesting that somehow the water pump is impacted by the level of waste water or the level of fresh water.

I don’t think so. To the best of my knowledge there is nothing that controls the Headhunter pump (or the Groco that preceded it) related to tank levels. The pumps have had “run dry” protection but other than that I don’t believe either has any control other than the on-off switch or the pressure switch.

There must be something out there. Race cars use automatic discharge fire extingquishers in the truck where the fuel cell is and the engine compartment. I think they have Halon in the bottles.

If the buses didn’t break the test would be next to worthless. My hope is that the manufacturers take this information back to the design table and make modifications. I suspect manufacturers pay some attention to class 1 and 2 failures but let everything else slide. If you scan thru the test results of the various manufactures you’ll see that sway bar failures are epidemic. It seems sway bars are treated as an after thought and are woefully underdesigned; the bars, the attachment points, and the bushings. With air suspension, big pipes, high flow valves, and a lower center of gravity, sway bars may be eliminated. An active air suspension can level the bus. Instead we have to struggle with keeping bushings in our sway bars! We already have ABS, road hazard radar, stability control, and maybe even some semblance of active ride. Prevost doesn’t seem to shy away from electronic control systems.

    No.

You can always charge up the batteries with a 12 volt charger, but you have to isolate the batteries to do that. You just cannot jump start the coach with 12 volts. You need 24 volts for the starter.

The reason you have a cutoff for the 12 volt is that is primarily to provide power to the DDEC module. If I remember correctly you can actually start and run the bus with the 12 volt master switch off, but after a while the 12 volt part of the system will be discharged and the DDEC will shut down. The equalizer will not be able to charge the 12 volt side with the switch off if I recall correctly.

Do our transmissions have an interlock that prevents shifting when too cold? If so, could be actually cold or bad sensor. The temp sensor on my Jeep tranny went bad and trans would not shift past second.

Where the purple and black wire go in moisture has built up inside corroding the inside. When I installed the new norgren I filled the hole with dielectric grease. Will try to upload more pics when it will work. Rick
