At the Prevost rally in Oklahoma City, when the seminar by United Engines was underway, the expert from Detroit stated that synthetic could be used but it should be changed at the regular interval of the non synthetic product…. I believe that is correct, if I am remembering correctly.

Jack, I do not doubt for a minute the Konis are superb. And I am well aware as original equipment shocks get a little age on them their resistance to compression and extension of the suspension is zero.
However, I will remain unconvinced as good as they are Koni shocks will limit the leans. Assume for the monent you are running straight and the bus encounters a bump that extends the full width of the lane. If the shocks did not allow some almost instantaneous compression the entire bump would be absorbed solely by the tires. While a turn is not a bump, you subject the coach to the forces that make it tend to lean far slower than what the coach is subjected to on that bump in the road. As a result the shocks will continue to function as shocks, allowing compression and rebound to the extend you have them adjusted, but only the sway bars are resisting the lean.
Dick, I have never heard of a racer trying to set up a car going to less or more compliant shocks to handle the turns, but I have always heard of increases in sway bar diameter as a means of eliminating excessive leans.

Alvie is right, those parts are getting hard to come by and Prevost is your best bet. The awning window linkage is also scarce.

That’s what I thought… ours had to be set to stop or off in order to function properly.. if it was on run those functions wouldn’t work on command.

Thanks for the tip on keeping the tow bar level to improve braking performance. I did order an adjustable hitch to be certain I am able to keep things on the level.

Actually I am not really sure where that all began, but Vantare’s are built by Featherlite but actually called Vantare and also have floorplan names such as Vantare Celebration and others… the same as Liberty has floorplan names such as Elegant Lady Kensington and so forth.
I am guessing the mother company is Featherlite..I do remember a few years back when Amadas took over the Vantare line and I think they still have it. It’s very confusing to me as I have heard several different stories and have no idea which one is correct.
If anyone out there knows the history of Vantare I too would like to know.

In reviewing the many comments on this subject, I have a particular interest in this and have followed this for a long time, personally. In Texas, according to the Office of the Comptroller of the State of Texas, (Susan Combs), if a motor coach owned by a Texas resident is brought into the State for a period of 30 days, it must be registered in Texas. There are no exceptions. If the owner is stopped for whatever reason, and the owner has a Texas driver’s license, with an out of state tag on the coach, the Trooper has a series of sequential questions designed to determine the location of permanent domicile for the coach as well as other inquiries. They take the conversation from there.
In Texas, as has been stated before in an earlier comment, this is a road use “fee” issue… it is not necessarily a sales tax issue but the road use is derived from the same pie…
It is further true that this is not a really great priority for enforcement ….yet, make no mistake, Texas has had conversations with Montana authorities because I have been a part of them… The authorities monitoring the Montana LLC’s have been made well aware of the distaste Texas has for those who help cheat our State.
When I was actively working on this 24 months ago, there had been at least two persons in Florida fined over $200M for back taxes (use) fees….one of the persons was caught and paid the back taxes and penalties on the coach he currently owned and the State also went back and fined him for the previous coach he had owned… at least, that is the story as I uunderstand it…
The basics: A very, very good friend just bought a brand new coach at a cost of $1.4 million… he paid no tax through a Montana LLC and had it delivered to Houston… If he is caught, he will owe the initial $90,000 plus penalties and interest….When you think about it, I don’t really get it… It just can never be worth it.

Wineguard Motion with Dish Network. No problems but if I don’t turn in on here at the house when we leave if won’t pick it up and have to call Dish and have them hit receiver. Wineguard works good. Get the low profile if you buy. I didn’t and it’s the tallest thing on the coach. Hope this helps and my 2 cents.

I’m the illusive Mr. B. I was relaxing in our coach when this beautiful new coach pulled in which I recognized to be Mr. Mark. What a nice guy and the only thing I found wrong is that he was not willing to trade coaches with me (can’t understand why)!!!
