groco pump
My groco pump model PSR 24v pump is not working. At first I thought the pump was frozen but checked the shaft and it moves freely. You can here a clicking when the prime or pump on button is pushed. Ideas? Rick

As a DC pump, are the brushes worn out? Have you checked voltage at the pump. If I recall there are 2 fuses because power to the pump is a pair of reasonably heavy wires originating from the electric compartment. Make sure the fuses are OK and that you are getting power because the pump has a control that I think prevents it from running dry. If that or the solenoid is bad both or either might be opeining the circuit.
You will not want to buy a new one. They are expensive.

I just ran a second small shurflo pump in parallel with the main pump. I had shut off valves so I could isolate either pump when the other was being used.
The issue is not the delivery of water because even the lowest volume pump flow is good enough for back up for washing dishes or showering. The issue is getting the sudden volume at pressure to the toilet and I added a second accumulator (expansion) tank in line with the toilet. Even if the pump was inadequate the tank had both pressure and volume to insure a good flush.
You can barely see the pump. It is along side of the water tank to the right of the Groco with a small prt of the end visible behind the red “hose”. The extra controls were to prevent a runaway Groco which happened, ending up ruining the original pump while it was in the garage.

I assume you have a Headhunter toilet and if so, you’ll need 50 psi for it work properly. Don’t remember the GPM. If you don’t have a Headhunter toilet, there are other pump options.

Do I detect a little Liberty envy in those posts.
Since this site was created about a gazillion posts ago, this is the first report of a Liberty house system failure. And I am pretty sure there is nothing wrong, that Rick may have forgotten to turn on the switch.
Hang in there Rick, these guys are going to ride this pony for all it is worth.

Good grief Bernie, there is no need for redundancy in any of the Liberty systems. Hmm, wonder why the Godfather added a backup pump and accumulator. Oh ya, I forgot, they can’t flush their toilets on just city water.:)

Ordered new pump $2360. I found prices as high as $3200. Tryed to find a rebuilder but on luck. Rick

Hang onto that pump because there are companies that will rewind motors and you will eventually run across one.
Then you have a spare to sell to Marathon owners when their Shurflo pumps quit and Camping World isn’t open.
I just had to do that.

I believe they rebuild them because I just got a spare set of used brushes from him. Took about six months, waiting for a donor. Hope you did not just need new brushes.

Good grief Rick, a new Headhunter is about 11000. Why on earth would the Groco be so expensive?
