What is the best in motion satellite receiver to buy, The KVH that came with the bus when new is acting up and have to keep doing updates with the thing and it is apita, what about winegard, what is liberty useing now, Gary

Hi Gary,
Liberty installed the following on our new coach:
-Winegard in-motion DSS Satellite System with 2 HD DVR receivers, dome painted
to match
-Winegard electric TV antenna with 2 HD local broadcast tuners
We do get a very nice sharp clear picture when I download the local TV channels. We haven’t started Satellite TV yet.

Wineguard Motion with Dish Network. No problems but if I don’t turn in on here at the house when we leave if won’t pick it up and have to call Dish and have them hit receiver. Wineguard works good. Get the low profile if you buy. I didn’t and it’s the tallest thing on the coach. Hope this helps and my 2 cents.

…. What kind of Sat TV service do you want.
Personally, I do not see any good use for in-motion. Unless, you have half a dozen teenagers in the back of the bus.
Personally, I do want HD (Hi-Definition) for just about everything I do watch.
The difference between SD and HD is like day and night.
The next question is whether you have Sat TV at home and, in that case, who is your provider.
I am assuming that you do have Smart TV’s in your bus.
In any event, we went with Dish because they do have the month to month service in HD. We pay something like $80 for their USA 120 channels service. If we watch, it is usually one of two channels and all else is pay per view movies.
All in all, we are happy with the service.

We just had our entire system updated and ended up keeping the in-motion AND adding the HD dish on the rear of the coach. Yes, I do have teenagers, but the wife may also want to watch while moving. In addition, a quick stop of an hour or two is much easier to use the in motion for a signal than run up the HD dish, and God forbid you forget to put it down.
A second benefit to this arrangement is that there are two dishes spaced 40 some-odd feet apart, which gives you a better chance to have some signal when parking near trees.
Liberty did the whole job, and it’s beautiful!

Since I do not watch TV when going down the road, I opted for the Wienguard traveler, dish Direct TV since it only cost 50 per month added to my home system removed the old KVH dome am pleased with it so far full HD, Gary

I use the in-motion on every trip while we drive.
I don’t know about other providers, but Direct TV has a lot of channels that are exclusively music, any vintage, any genre. I would not want to be without in motion.

That’s why God gave us 2 eyes…one to watch the road and one to watch TV.

I hope everyone realizes that I don’t answer the phone, text, use apps, or even touch my cell phone (when it is on and I am driving), however I cannot break the habit of watching Lawrence Welk and the Lennon Sisters while driving.

Jon, does your RPM change when you watch-listen to the Lennon Sisters?

I wouldn’t be happy without in motion… no way… and I love Direct tv.
