Ditto on what Jon said, you need to run your tires based off the weight that each axle weights. While at the Prevost show in West Palm Beach the Michelin person said not to over inflate but even more important, you should never under inflate the tires. If you run them 5 pounds over as Jon said its not a big deal, but 15-30 pounds over will ride like a tank and wear the tire out faster, per the Michelin man.

Recently returned from a trip to Branson, MO. Ran the entire trip at just under 1800 rpm, around 63/65 mph. There were numerous 5, 6 and 7% grades and I didn’t see any water temps above 185. No, it didn’t get to the top at the same speed it was at the bottom but the 8V92TA handled it without a problem.

I hope you get it all figured out Georges, it’s no fun when our girl isn’t running right!!!

Thank you. It looks like there are two ways to hook up the leads. One way is to hook both the positive and negative to one battery of the pair. The second method is to hook the positive to one battery and the negative to the other battery in the pair. Is one way better than the other given a smart charger is used?

    Tim,

Are you getting any error codes? Is the SMX set for “cool”?

Belts, various relays and circuit breakers, misc. fasteners such as screws, nut, bolts. Tapes including electrical, duct and double sided. Velcro strips. Adhesive / sealer. Super glue. Spare Watchdog. Various small plumbing pipe caps or plugs (to plug air lines).

Various light bulbs for house and chassis. Fuses. Miscellaneous electrical terminals, Schrader valves, tire valve stem caps, short lengths of wire with alligator clips on each end, voltmeter, clamp on multitester with AC/DC amp reading capability, IR heat gun, High quality tire air chuck with gauge, 50 feet of air hose.

Flash light, wide selection of hand tools, Nexus reader with software for DDEC V, ABS system, transmission. power drill, task specific tools such as extension and socket to adjust slide pins and tools dedicated to relaxing or tightening belts (pneumatic system has been removed).

I stopped carrying any parts I have no intention of changing or cannot get at a local auto parts store such as spare tire, Norgrens, air bags, brake chambers, etc.

I do carry a ladder that will get me onto the roof if required. I carry some fluids such as Transynd, but oil is in the reservoir and if it is a loss of coolant I use on board water.

Most importantly I carry as many owner or shop manuals for all the various devices or appliances, plus I have bookmarked various sites on the computer so I can do as much trouble shooting as possible. Additionally I carry a list of phone numbers.

I will not get under my coach when on the road. I carry credit cards and cash.

    Dan and Judy,

Congrats on the new tractor. I’m sure next harvest will go smoother! Glad you were able to work it all out with the insurance co.

Hope to see you both on the road sometime.

For those coaches with automatic slack adjusters periodically measuring push rod travel to insure it is within specs is all that is required. On manual slack adjusters I found backing off from a tight brake about 1/4 to 1/3 turn consistently provided the correct travel so that was all I did at each service interval.

Hey, they had the drop on me. They kept saying they were there to collect dues for some battery salesman.

Hey Tom, RE: “Maybe with today’s clearcoats it’s not a concern.”

What about we-ins with the, shall we say, “less than today’s clearcoats”? Surly you’re not in the Jon flip phone, whoa-be-gone period of Never-Never Land are you? I apologize for mentioning you and Jon in the same sentence, we all have our standards. :). But are you saying the new waterless technology is not conducive to the older paints/clearcoats?

Maybe I should ask the question this way? Is there a waterless system more oriented to the older paints?
