I have replaced the front leveling valve and that leak is gone now. I do certainly have other leaks, as the aux psi drops pretty quickly. I have 5 and 3 port valves and a new level low manifold w solenoids on the way to take care on the steering bay. If I still have leaks, I’ll address the rear valves next. BTW the existing leveling valve was not a Haldex.

I no longer have the records for my 97.

Prevost will supply the right ones.

    Hello Harry,

I see you have 1991 Beaver coach. A 1991 Beaver was my first Prevost. Does yours happen to have a bathtub w/ Jazuzi . I think Beaver only made 3 Prevost.

Non-OTR coaches had a jack screw type belt tensioner and maybe someone on here can take photos of theirs (Full Time Bill?) so you can replace the pneumatic cylinders with a home made version.

I replaced my mini-air bag tensioners with a home made jack screw type of tensioning and it has worked very well for more than 30,000 miles and saved me from chasing leaks in the fittings, valve, regulator, check valve and air bags.

    What Tom said, maybe.

Let’s not consider this a resolved issue until Joy has communicated with Love’s.

When we all got cards we had an instruction sheet that required us to call a number and select a PIN. If Love’s and TSD work out the details all that might be needed to provide some security for the card will be for Love’s to show a prompt asking for the PIN you selected.

But if not then TSD may have to require a prompt for a control number and that control number may be one you select or it may be your last four of your SSN#.

Tom was in the sauce last night when he posted prematurely, but cut him some slack. He is old.

I drove a 2016 Newell from Dallas to Houston …. very heavy and feels huge which it is… drove fine …. but very different from a Prevost …

My friend bought the coach new and used it extensively …of his first 23,000 miles, 7,000 miles was spent driving to and from Miami, Ok. for service. I have been completely through the building process at Miami … The sides are pasted on but I feel the workmanship in the interior is fine… I do not like their engineering experimentation with engines and transmissions… some combinations may not work well..

You will be a very, very welcome guest as long as you are a potential customer for a new coach or an upgrade….. beyond that, they do not even care about your name….

Been there and done that …

Jeff: We have a 99 Liberty with a Raritan water heater, I suspect you probably have a similar device. If you do, let me share my experiences.

A number of years ago we couldn’t get any hot water using electric. So based on consultation with Jeff Rowe at ETLC I determined that the electric heating element was kaput. Using a 120volt AC trouble light I had power to the thermostat and power from the thermostat to the element. So the element had power, but apparently wasn’t heating the water.

After turning off the breaker for the water heater AND draining the water heater (Liberty thoughtfully provides valves for that as part of the winterization functionally built into their coaches) I carefully removed the element. Jeff warned me that it could be a little hard to get out because of calcium build-up, and it was.

Then it was off to the local ACE hardware store. There wasn’t an exact match, but it appeared most of the available elements had the same “thread-size” which is the most important aspect. Some were a little longer, some shorter, and there were modest variations in wattage and hence BTU values. As I understand the Raritan, its only a 120volt AC device. Your home electric water heater is a 240volt AC device and uses TWO of these 120volt AC heating elements to heat your hot water. That’s why the hardware store one works.

I actually picked one with a slightly higher amp drawn and wattage. But the water heater should be wired for 15 amps and should be on a 15 amp breaker and as long as the element we pick is under 80% of 15 (i.e. 12 amps or 1,440 watts) we should be OK. (I’m sure if my assumptions are incorrect the EE’s and Sparkys will correct me.)

I put it in, hooked up the wires, and it worked great. Hot water again!

Only problem is that its an awkward place to work. Someone with long arms should find it much easier than I did.

Then about a year or so later the water heater started to leak and Jeff’s crew replaced it with a brand new one.

Then on our 100 day trip this past winter we didn’t again have hot water. Checked with Jeff, water heater fairly new, should be OK. He said there is a switch or breaker on the water heater that might have tripped, try that first. Its under the plastic cover. So I turned the water heater breaker off, took the cover off, pushed the button, and was pretty sure I heard a “click”. Flipped the breaker back on and saw an immediate draw on the amperage readout, so I figured out the water heater was working. In about 30 minutes the water was hot. Turned the breaker off, put the cover back on, turned the breaker off, and have had hot water ever since.

Next time I saw Jeff I thanked him for that advice. He said some owners will drill a hole in the plastic cover right over the button with a step drill so they can easily reset the button on the overload switch without removing the plastic cover which was difficult to remove and get back on in my case.

    Hope all this helps!

I’m gonna fix the “superficial damage” in my shop and spend the insurance check on a new “rose petal” emitting dumping system for my “lowly” Country Coach.

Thanks for the dues credit. Things are a little tight right now.

And also, did you notice the handicapped flag?

And one more thing. The law officers never mentioned anything about the bus/trailer combination being close to 80 feet long.

Kirby saved our 22 year old JennAir fridge by replacing the defrost timer. That was summer before last. Someday it will die and I’ll be posting for folks to tell me what model fit best in the space.
