I think one thing that we all can appreciate is there are likely no deal breakers on any conversion. Every conversion and converter has some areas that could be potential problems, but for every one there seems to be a way to deal with the shortcomings.

It has to be said that none of us likes to spend money to fix or replace something but no matter what the problem is on any conversion the cost to deal with it is not unreasonable when we consider how much the coach is worth. Until coaches reach a value in the mid to high five figures our greatest expense still is going to be depreciation.

I posted this yesterday , but it did not appear.

I put the ignition key in the cabinet with the sat controller. This way when I go to start the bus, I have to go into that cabinet to get the key. Theroy is to turn the dish off while in there.

Now Tom, when you say something like “Sheesh, now we’re not even gong to be able to hang with the Guru, he’s moved up many levels.” that’s almost like saying Andy’s too high up and unapproachable.

I’m here to tell you that Andy and I are close personal friends. Just the other day I called him on his cell phone and Lucy answered with a message I’d hear from his people! Andy has peeps!

I read that the three things that can cause catastrophic engine failure in a diesel engine are three things. Loss of Coolant, loss of engine oil, and failure of the timing chain. When you have the engine torn apart will you be changing the timing chain? Michael

Now Glens, I like you a lot but I’m telling you for the last time I’m not movin down to Kingsland, Texas just to use your barn!

I am looking at a place in Florida on 8 acres (I know you have 10 you big show off) with a nice home, not far from the gulf where I can build a bus barn. Please let me know the size of your barn so I can build mine bigger. I know all about how big things are in TEXAS, I use to live there!

But to the point, 42 degrees ain’t bad Mr. Glad!

I don’t have a Jake, just a retarder. I noticed on our recent trip that on steep inclines with the retarder level pulled down all the way (max effect) the trans would downshift, the retarder would “kick in”, the RPMs might increase, and after a few moments the “Oil Temp” (actually trans temp!!!!) would start to rise. Once the RPMs got to 2400 or 2500 the trans would automatically upshift (even though the retarder was on full blast. That told me that between the engine and trans computer, the max RPM is 2400 or 2500. There apparently is protection built in.

From this, can I presume the max RPM for the DD Series 60 is 2500? Maybe Brian Stanton from American Fleet can comment.

Its kind of a story but I have a leak in one of the heads on my air compressor and to get to the head you have to remove the air genny air cleaner assembly.

So when I did that one of the nuts on the bottom side of the air cleaner fell down into the genny. So now I had to take the back off the genny and try to find the nut that fell off, which I can’t find.

So now I am going to have to go back in when it gets a little warmer and take part of the genny apart and see if I can find the nut.

Tried a magnet on a long stem, my hand held camera on the end of a flexible shaft and removed part of the bracket that holds the brushes on the end of the armature or the exciter coils, not sure what they are just yet.

My understanding is that the Hemi is towable since it has a true neutral transfer case. The V6 does not have the same transfer case and not towable.

Well thanks a lot Mikee, putting out my new book information like that. At least you didn’t mention the subplot about the guy who fled the country with a gaggle of flip phones.

Did you like the part about the poor soul who was dancing in a cesspool and kept the shoes. And how the the president of Oder-Eaters walked up and slapped him. Oops, maybe we’ve said too much?

So buy The Human Animals, Hey Mikee!

It make sense now that somebody that really knows explains it.

The air from the T with blue lines will have direct line with the open exhaust on the bottom of the 3 way.

Theoretically, if any of the 5 way valves on the blue circuit are leaking internally, the air will be bleeding through the NO exhaust, top into bottom of the 3 way below.

I ordered 3 new K81s and will change them all….but….Where exactly are the locations of the 5 way in the rear ? I had the shop change all 4 of the 3 way in the back last summer.

When I spoke with David Coulombe and Dennis Orner back in April and got the 3 way valves, the diagram did not show any 5 way in the rear….showed 4 K41’s, 3 for leveling and one for inversion…..no 5 ways

    Appreciate the assistance.

I was surprised when it was not his signature at the bottom..

Is it possible that ambient temperature and humidity levels could have anything to do with this?

    Truk,

I recently got one from MilUSA. 1-800-527-4498 and they also have a website. Expensive ($195, I think) I can pull the invoice if you want the exact amount, but it seemed the best alternative for me. Unless you find some dealer that happens to have one left, I believe they are the only option in the US. The lady I spoke with was very knowledgeable about our showers and the problems they develope over time. It arrived quickly in a 60″ tube. Can’t believe I had information you didn’t already know.
