Jeff makes a good point, getting to the latest post in a long thread is simple on the
laptop/computer, but lots and lots of finger flicking when using a
smartphone.Too bad there isn’t a “Bottom of Page” link along with the “Top of Page” link. Linda

This is just an educated guess, so take it with a grain of salt.

On an older coach you have all the normal issues to consider such as the quality of the previous maintenance which is oil changes, coolant changes, transmission fluid changes, etc. and to that you can add the consideration of the potential need to replace aging air bags, brake chambers, suspension valves etc.

There have been numerous discussions on this forum about the likely cost associated with bringing everything current so you have a relatively trouble free coach. We have seen and discussed numbers from $30,000 to as much as $50,000 if you have a service shop do the work. It sounds like a lot of money, but you go out the door with everything that typically ages or wears out up to date and you will have a long time before you have to spend any serious money doing it again..

What is an unknown is what age might have affected such as issues ranging from corrosion of fasteners, electrical connections, or even some body members. You also have to consider if the coach has had a lack of proveable use and service there could be surprises such as pneumatic systems that have been damaged by moisture.

But there is a lot of good news in an older coach. As Hugh pointed out depreciation is very small. The systems are usually simple but robust and parts are often available at places like W.W. Grainger. Because the coach lacks the gee-whiz stuff that is becoming more common and more complex you have a coach that is easy to work on by yourself and you do not have to rely on a programmer or NASA scientist to keep it running.

Jon you don’t have to face the camera. Geo didn’t in that towing video from the seminar and the video turned out great.

Looks like Geo and I agree on this. I respect his opinion because as a racer he knows more about how tire pressures are important than almost anyone.

PC members need to wear something at the Tampa show where we can recognize each other if we have not met before. I would wear a ribbon in my hair, but I don’t have enough hair. Any ideas?

Generally the generator battery on a Liberty is going to be under the shelf in the electric bay towards the RH rear. If it is the battery it is not difficult to remove the shelf to make the swap.

We used to take the grandchildren along in our last two motorhomes. While we were driving, they would usually lie on the bed and watch Disney videos. The key thing is having kids that will listen when you tell them the rules, and that they follow your instructions. We had some very enjoyable time with the grandkids, and they got to see some things, like several national parks and historical areas they havent seen since.

If you pull relay R9 in the rear junction box over the engine you will kill kill the lights and the back-up beeper. That would be the most likely cause.

I saved over $60 on two chassis batteries this weekend with the NAPA card. Sweet! I received a replacement card in the mail a few months ago. New expiration is 2019.

After reading all the great posts, I am wondering has anyone added any after market light bars or additional lights up high so those behind have a better chance to see your break lights and hazard flasher. I agree, and I do this in my Conversion Van. Give yourself lots of distance to slowdown or brake, watch the traffic well ahead of you and anticipate brake lights well ahead of you and begin to let off the peddle, and engage the flashers; all go and responsible actions for any driver especially for a Big Rig. But, how do you warn those behind you so they can respond to your actions. A Prevost is big and if you are behind your trailing drivers view are blocked by your rig. I keep going back to Wisconsin and the snow plows that work in bad weather with limited visablility and they have yellow flashing lights that are on all the time and the school buses that have white strobes on the top of the busses that cut through the dark of night and the fog and snow year round. Any thought about flashing lighting and strobe that engage when the hazard switch is engaged. Michael
